Ladies and gents, I think it's time to discuss that elephant up there. The big white bar. Now, let's list what's on it and the problems with each.

Forum stats.
Nice information.. Which you refer to how many times? It's just your own stats.. And That's it. Pretty but ultimately do you need it there constantly? Not really no..

Mark all read.
Yup useful. Worth having. Except it's duplicated down the page anyway.

Now the 2 buttons down the page are nice they fit in, work lovely with the design. But the white bar, fixed, out of place and frankly not needed..

Your thoughts everyone?

Agreed, no use. The bottom bar with social media is really about as useful to me. Just taking up screen real estate for no real reason.

Oh yes
So stats is duplicated as well. So the white (elephant) bar is infact totally useless.

The white bar is context sensitive though. When going to other places than the forum, different information appears there. Like all the vendor tools, for instance. So it does have a purpose, it just needs to be collapsible. :)

So, if your not a vendor, it's totally useless, but we have to have it anyway unless we use a plugin to remove it.
Great design. Really great design. Can't put a switch in "if vendor = y then show menu = y" I mean making it context sensitive was done..
