COMICS!

Most of us here on Renderosity are a bit geekish and either read or write comics and create comic images. Whether you utilize PP2014's comic feature or use a plug-in or do you comic in post-work. Show us what you have. Here are a couple of my examples:

this was for a challenge themed party aftermath. I had a little fun with the meaning of the term.

This one was for a ufo themed challenge

LOL!!! I love a good play on words.

Of course neither placed in the challenge, but I didn't expect them to. I was just having fun and somebody's got to place last.

See... and that's what it's all about. If it stops being a fun thing to do, its called work. Work is the ultimate 4-letter word.

When I was growing up, my dad used to tell me "Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life." I had that job for a while and he was right. Now if only I could make a living coming in last in render challenges. lol

Here's one I did just so I could post something in here. I am making a Black Widow suit for Roxie, and I thought I'd test Poser 10's cartoon outliner. Not bad.

Two recent images attached. 50% poser, 50% Photoshop.

These are wonderful.

Rokket: that is nice, there is a lot to play with in the toon settings.

12rounds: You have a great style and composition is wonderful. Very professional looking!

well mine is a mix of olivier's toon shaders usng easy applicaiton with shaderworks, in conjuction with a little photoshop.

Well I don't just use photoshop - I actually do toon rendering using the toon utility/materials from rdna which is materials combined with a python script, - I can do application to all the textures in my scene using shaderworks python script.

Here is a style I tried some weeks ago:

I used a photoshop filtre called "Lithograph"

I don't know if this is good or bad, personally I like playing with toon renders, but they don't seem all that well received.
Here's one that uses Bagginsbill's toon material which I've worked into the skin section of an old VSS1 skin section.
Hair and dress were run through Shaderworks Art Materials Toon.

To me that looks great Bevan84. I often put a duplicated layer on top with opacity around 34% with some sort of toon filter applied in photoshop. the combination of rendered toons and photoshop filters works quite well for me.

Very nice style and clear colors, bewans84!

Here's a page from issue 8 of my comic, Displacements:Oasis. I render in Vue, then use Photoshop and Manga Studio to toon things a bit.
