Lets say Ive made a morph for the right collar, (ZBrush) how do I mirror that, to get an exact copy for the left side ?? Can it be done inside Poser? Sort of an expanded symmetry option? :-) (I gotta find out, please HELP!! :-)

MT Miror II, I have tried it, as I understand it only works for faces etc., when I open a collar for example, it returns an error and I can not go any further :-(

So that means it is worthless for what he is talking about. If you do a morph in zbrush say of a head you can use symetry and the morph is automatically created. How do you guys do this symetrically? Marque

Mazak ( ) posted Fri, 05 October 2001 at 5:23 AM

I am sorry. I tested it also. Unfortunately no other idea. Mazak

Face morphs in ZBrush can be done symetrically, no need for MT Mirror, how ever this app. might work on a Vicky head though. Whenever you want to, you can disable the symmetry option and work on from there, ZBrush is great for that.

Marque ( ) posted Fri, 05 October 2001 at 6:06 AM

I can do the morphs on the head, don't need to copy them to the other side. I also would like to know how to make the same morph for two body parts, say the forearm, and have them match. I can do each one in zbrush but they will never be close. Marque

Marque; Exactly my problem too, a darn shame! Im looking for options in ZBrush that might could do the mirroring but even if I found it, the mirrored part wouldnt fit the character...the "joint points" are never the same from side to side! (Just a wild guess..)

MTM will work for any Vicki group. You must understand what is required.. I have two tutorials on my site that are germane.

Try Morph Master With Morph Master you can: 1) Import blMilWom.obj 2) From the menu of the morphs of the right collar import the morph that you have created. 3) Click on menu "Stack/Modify geometries to create a morph target" 4) From the tree view click on the menu "Select group" of the right collar group 5) From the tree view click on the menu "Use morph target" of the morph that you have imported 6) Set the value of the morph to 1 7) Click on "Mirror selection" button from the tools "Modifiers" 8) Choose the radio button Right to left 9) From the menu Stack click on "Goal:Create Morph Target" and clear the stack. Two morph targets wil be created one for the right and one for the left collar 10) With menu "Export Morph Target" of the morph of the left collar just created you can get the Morph file to use in Poser You can find Morph Master in Free stuff/Utilities or in my site http://www.codetwister.com/ Bye CodeTwister

Zrincx ( ) posted Sun, 07 October 2001 at 5:01 PM

Hello CodeTwister; It still doesnt work, the newly created morph target (when applied to the character) ends up in heavily deformation from start of dial and up! I also notice that the original obj filesize 90KB drops down to only 40KB on the new file! Any clues? (I really whish that I could make this app. work it has such a nice interface, and is easy to get around). Z.

CodeTwister ( ) posted Mon, 08 October 2001 at 3:21 AM

I have made some tests with right and left collars and all works fine. If you want, you can send me the file of the right collar morph, so I can verify if there is something wrong in the code. My email is info@codetwister.com. Usually the mesh exported from a 3D CAD contains the list of the vertices and the list of the faces of the mesh. The file generated with Morph Master is smaller because it contains only the list of the vertices. This because Poser ignores the faces when it imports a morph target. CodeTwister

Just shipped a file to you.. Thanks mate! I see, about the difference in filesize, thanks for the useful information. Smaller filesizes are always welcome :-)

Zrincx ( ) posted Tue, 09 October 2001 at 1:10 AM

To Cookie; Same experience here, ZBrushs mirror function does not work for Poser morphs. Z.

carlochillemi ( ) posted Mon, 18 March 2002 at 7:53 AM

Do you can read italian? I have some problems with my english. Whi do not try with milkshape? It has the possibility to mirror a solid. I hope it can help you the only limitation is that milkshape don't manage so many vertices, you have only to try. carlo.chillemi@tiscalinet.it, let know me please. You can find milkshape3d here http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/
