Subject: Tweaks for the MP

Giana ( ) posted Sat, 22 August 2015 at 9:05 PM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 5:58 PM

hello!!

as of right now, i am going on my third hour of wandering around the MP. there are a few little details now that were not there before that i am appreciating, but i've been compiling a list of things in my head that i would like to have considered changed or tweaked.

  1. i use to be able to land on a page in the MP that housed a variety of items, and whenst i'd click on something of interest, a new window would pop up thus preventing me from losing my place in the 'list' of things i was viewing on the original page. can this be something that can be implemented again?

  2. i see no option to see everything in the MP as a whole, meaning that i can only see a limited number of pages for the most recently arrived items in the 'what's new' section or i have to now navigate to specified 'departments'. it is a little tedious, esp. if a merchant has accidentally put an item into a wrong category as i'll never see it where i'm looking. plus there have been times whenst i've seen a random item that i would never search for, but in thinking about it, i end up buying it because it was right in front of me to get me thinking about it. also, drilling down into dep'ts is horribly time-consuming, and a fair amount of my 3 hours has been waiting on that spinning circle to render an actual page for me. can we please have a way to see the MP as a whole again?

  3. is it possible to show the normal price of an item under its respective thumbnail in tandem with the Prime price? i am not a Prime member, so right now i have no way of knowing what MY price would be unless i actually click into the item's page itself.

  4. speaking of an item's page itself - i've not been a vendor here now for many many moons, but i find it rather offensive that whenst i click into an item's page to look further at it, i now have an ad off to the right for an entirely different vendor. TPTB will do with things as they like, but i would think showing a bit more individualised loyalty to your vendors would probably be a good thing... i.e. do away with those ads, or figure something else out to shove into that space [and please, not more ads about stuff no one cares about or will ever click upon].

  5. is there a way to rework the algorithm for the 'For You' section in the MP [under the MP dropdown menu in the black bar at the top of the site]? can it maybe look at an individual's 'profile' and/or interests in regards to at least which programs a person might be interested in buying for? right now, i do not use, or even have installed, DazStudio, yet i'm being recommended items specifically used for that program. not sure if your programmers can change that, but i'd think making that option more tailored to your customer's interests would be a good thing.

  6. can we get an option to change/customise the number of items we, as individuals, want to view at a time? the endless scrolling being fixed was awesome, but again, waiting on that spinning circle to render a page can be frustrating. if there was an option to view say twice as many as the current default amount, that cuts down how much time, potentially, one is waiting for things to load. just a suggestion.

thanks for reading!
cheers!

On top of everything else, the site, overall, is S-O S-L-O-W.

And for the record, I have a 30 mps internet connection. It's you guys... not me.

I am moving this to the Community Thread where we are working on all suggestions and or issues with the site. :)

oh, this is where it went. sorry if i posted in the wrong forum - my bad...

and no worries, i'll not be cluttering things up with any more of my thoughts, questions or suggestions, as apart from a few answers [some answers being incorrect] on one of a few i've posted, it's been made fairly evident that my efforts are for naught... [shrug]
