Subject: Open-close eyes dial stopped working for v4

bibliophyle ( ) posted Mon, 24 August 2015 at 4:28 AM · edited Thu, 23 January 2025 at 3:27 AM

I am using Poser Pro 2014 and win7. I use mostly V4, K4 and M4. Although it worked when I first installed, the closed eye dial no longer works for V4, but works fine for the other figures. All other dials I use for v4 work fine I've tried reinstalling poser, but that didn't help. Anyone know what I might have done to cause this and how it can be fixed? Thanks.

Because all the other dials work correctly, this is a V4 issue, not a Poser problem.
What happens if you choose v4, then click Figure > Zero Figure.
does this allow the dial to move again?

Andy
Thanks for the quick reply. I loaded the base v4.2 figure, injected the base and morphs. I also zeroed the figure. Neither the opened-closed eyes dial nor the right nor left closed eye dials work. The squint eye dials work.On the open-closed eyes dial the master parameters show: Head--Becky; Head--Emma; Head--Lisa; Head--Samatha.

I did email Daz 3d customer support but they weren't helpful. I haven't seen where anyone else has had this problem, Seems weird to me.

Hi Larry....
eye closing shouldn't require the Morphs ++ dials....
It should not even need the Base morphs!
Can you load V4.2 and see if the eye close/open dials work before you add any morph packages?
Thanks!

How old is the V4 installers? There was a V4 update a couple of years ago but I don't remember what was corrected in that version.

This can happen when crosstalk borks up one of the V4 figure's eye dials in a scene. The easiest fix to tell you is to restart Poser. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to reinitialize V4.

If you're having this problem exactly as you describe above, with the default V4 figure, then you really need to close Poser and initialize the figure using the accompanying bat file. If you can't find a quicklink to it that should have been installed with your product, you can find the bat file in your Poser's runtime directory, where you installed V4. ie: ......RuntimeRuntimelibraries!DAZDzCreateExPFiles-V4.bat

Running that should take care of the issue. Then, restart Poser and test.
