This was one of the issues mentioned by multiple parties in the beta, and was subsequently ignored. I didn't even get an acknowledgement that I had commented, so I figured there and then that they only wanted us to blow smoke up their collective asses and that what they deemed was good, was going ahead anyway; at which point, I stopped participating.
Congratulations RO on making the galleries a place where phablets, tablets and phones can be useful, and desktops and disabled people are no longer welcome.

well its not much use on a phone either the old site worked perfectly well on my phone if i was out away from my pc I would get email if a fav artist had uploaded a picture and it was easy to see the picture and post a comment now i dont even get the email never mind find the images so i guess the site dosnt work for phones or pc now then.
Any news on it ?? One week later, nothing has changed... That current layout is causing eye fatigue to me, I can't follow the galleries anymore. Come on, one single page with like 3 billions pics on it, and on top of that, they're all stuck on on each other, there must be a better way to set up galleries...
We're going to keep this idea in mind. For right now, we're in the process of fixing bugs and minor issues. But, if we decide to officially re-do the galleries, we'll DEFINITELY let you know.
Thanks so much!

I'd just like to add my voice to this thread. Infinite scrolling, in my opinion, does not do the galleries or site loading speed, and favors. I've tried them both in Firefox and Chrome (which I am not fond of), and it tends to hang both of them up. It's not an internet speed or RAM issue, since this PC has sufficient of both...
Where can I sign? It was possible to fix this for the marketplace so it must not be impossible to fix it for the galleries... at least eventually once there is time
Frequency Gallery | Frequency Store
We can fix the infinite scrolling in certain areas like the browsing and searching and portfolio pages(when we know what is coming up next), however on some pages like the 'recommended', 'trending', 'fresh favorites', 'likes' all the data is loaded on the initial page load and is possibly different each time you visit the page. Therefore, there is no way to know what is on the next page depending on when you visit the page. On those pages, the infinite scroller is not really the next page when you near the bottom and it loads more, it's really just the next set of data that was already loaded in on the initial visit.
Hope that makes sense.
On a side note, we have made it so when you click a thumb it opens in a new window. This way you don't lose your place.
BTW I've made a few more tweaks to the galleries, for clarification on all the updates check out this thread
Well, having real pages for the "what's new" section would be a good start, I think this is the main part of galleries. I don't want to ask for too much, but it would be perfect with a max of 40/50 thumbs on each page... Or a way to select the quantity in personal settings at least. In comparison there are 100 thumbs on the marketplace (which has got pages, like Frequency mentionned), and this is way too much (imho), none of them get enough attention from viewer, compared to the previous marketplace.
ps : Yes, new window when clicking a thumb was a good idea :)
The web designer (and I use the term loosely) should know that there are ways to discern if the viewer is mobile or not, and should be able to write code to direct them to that part of the site which is most useful to them. (a separate set of pages for mobile is how most sites appear to do it.)
I can no longer view galleries because it is painful. This site might be "google friendly" but it is certainly not disabled friendly, it is not user friendly and it is most certainly not going to change any time in the near future. As the last "upgrade" proved, complaints will fall on deaf ears with constant promises to inform the programmer of things that need to be fixed. Time to move along I think, after almost 15years.

Everything is in the title, please bring us pages and their back/forward button back, please... New galleries are impossible to browse (except for a few phones/tablets users, probably...)
