Subject: V4 grabbing her own breasts

timdonehy ( ) posted Fri, 04 September 2015 at 4:00 AM ยท edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 6:11 AM

I would like to know how to make the hand of V4 look like they push against her own skin as if by grabbing (and therefore extend into the skin a little, in this case, breasts, you get the drift). I know how to fit clothes to the skin tightly by using the push/pull morph created with a target as "V4" but it doesn't work if the object being pulled or pushed is part of V4 itself so I'm stuck! Any help appreciated.

Here's a nice video from a Really Smart Guy!!

Hmm, sorry I did have a look at that link and it talks about magnets but I failed to see how this would help me with my specific issue? I understand I could use magnets to deform the skin of the breasts, but I can do that with the morphing tool already. My issue is that is I can't, in the morphing tool, select V4 breast, and then say that I want to "tighten the fit" with the goal being V4's hand (or vice-versa, doesn't really matter), because "V4 hand" is part of the same figure as "V4 breast" so it won't let me select it. I'd like to know if there is a way around this in effect.

A picture being worth a thousand words, I basically want this effect (can't put the whole pic, it's not mine...)

Just a thought but could you load a second figure into the scene and use the second figures hand to deform the mesh of your first figure and then turn the visibility of the second figure off for your render?

You could probably get that effect by posing V4, regrouping the breast area to be deformed, clothifying it or a copy of it in the cloth room, rotating everything so that the figure's breasts look "down" and would naturally interact with the fingers of the hand, then run a simulation, experimenting with different "cloth" variables until you got the look you wanted.

In fact, I KNOW there is a tutorial or a python script somewhere, free, that does **exactly ** this. I thought Nerd3D did it, but it may have been someone else. It's got a weird name and it has been around forever, so it's not guaranteed to work with new versions of Poser if it's a python script. It is out there, though, I just can't remember who did it.

Thanks everyone for the many suggestions, I'll try and dig deeper, so to speak...

basicwiz ( ) posted Thu, 10 September 2015 at 11:20 AM

Here is the way to do it if you have a version of Poser that includes the morph brush... @4149861

Thanks basicwiz, I do have the morph brush and tried to use it, and I can see how with this tutorial it would work if M4 grabs V4, but what about if V4 grabs herself?... It wouldn't work at that stage of your tutorial where you say "Select M4 as the target and V4's arm as the item to tighten" because you can't choose the same figure for target and object to tighten... I guess the way around it would be, as suggested by Keppel to load a second exact figure of V4, but I was wondering if there was an easier way around it?

basicwiz ( ) posted Thu, 10 September 2015 at 12:49 PM

I agree the second figure is the best work around.

Morkonan: Is this the tutorial you referred to? It's called "Poser SoftBodies Tutorial" and is at the bottom of the page at http://users.comcen.com.au/~raj/ It's by Raj D'Arge.
