Subject: No more promo credits

Who let the marketing idiots take control? Instead of promotional credits, ie: a list of other products used in the promotional photos, I now see a pile of other products from the vendor being shoved in my face and a glowing script on top saying "There are no promotional credits for this product". Who do you clowns think you are...Daz? Knock it off!

Not buying anything here anymore.

All my products have promotional credits where they should be, as I sell clothing and tend to use other people's characters and hair in my promos.

This must be something that only happens when a vendor has not added any promo credits - before there used to be only a message that there are no promo cedits.

It is up to each vendor whether they will put in promo credits or not. I think it is good practice if one has actually used anything. Not all vendors use other people's items for their promos in the first place though so they would have nothing to put there. Renderosity probably just decided to use the empty space for promoting some of the vendor's own products - check out a few more products and I am sure you will find promo credits! :)

Hope that helps!

I checked a dozen items at random, all clothes from the past few weeks, and despite using lots of other items such as hair and jewelry, none of them had any credits. This has come up before and vendors where chastised by us (their customers) for not giving credits. Now it seems to have expanded. I may be unlucky with the products I'm selecting but that doesn't bode well if it's a random selection. Several folks made the point back then, that many of their purchases where made based on other products they saw in the promos and where able to quickly link to them via the credits.

It is up to the vendor. Some don't credit because the items are from elsewhere and they can't. Sometimes I don't credit because I use a mish mash from various places, but I always tell people when they ask what I used. There has never been a rule in place. Perhaps most of the items you are looking at now, the additional items came from elsewhere?

Ever since that credit option was put in place I see more products without credits than those that have had them. It's more likely just the ones you are viewing now.

I always put promo credits in for everything I use. I even used to put promo credits for poses, until my pose library grew so big that I will now copy a pose from another project and no longer remember where it came from...

There is no rule, and I don't think there should be. It should be up to each vendor whether they choose to be generous and advertise for other vendors. I think it is good practice, but that is all it is. The fact that customers dislike the lack of promo credits and really appreciate them is something a vendor might want to consider. I certainly do.

Why not send the vendor in question a polite message, asking what products they used? I am sure a lot of vendors will reply. :)

I've seen this as well. Some vendors do include credits, some do not. Still, in the many times I have site mailed a vendor about anything, only one has failed to respond. I won't name her as I think she just missed it because she is so busy making new stuff!
