Subject: An enormous discount of 1 (!) percent for a texture set. Really?

Is that one of the exciting new features of the 'revolution' here on Rendo? One percent discount? And $ 20 original price just for a texture set that requests a room set from DAZ which itself is available for less ($16.95 for anybody, $ 1.99 (!) for Prime Club Members)? Good luck...

It seems to have been a input error when the vendor's sale was started. :)

There seems to be a maximum value for a discount but obviousely no minimum value. If it is an mistake or intentional, only the vendor can know... But the fact is, it IS possible to give a 1 % discount, and who can say that there won't be similar 'discounts' in the future? When it even for you seems to be a mistake, why isn't there a minimum value for a discount as you have one for a maximum discount?

We've seen some where the prices got entered backwards and the sale price was greater than the regular price. Mistakes are mistakes, no use getting too upset about them. Bottom line is if the item is priced higher then you are willing to pay, don't buy it. Looking at whatever the "full" price is in relation to the sale price isn't really productive in figuring out whether it is a good deal or not. At $20 for a texture set, even marked down to $10 or 50% off it would have to be one heck of a texture set before I would pay that for it.

I'm not upset, I'm just wondering why a 'discount' of 1% is possible at all when the only answer I get is 'it must be a mistake'. Why not preventing ventors from future 'mistakes' by setting a minimum value for discounts?

I'm not interested in that texture set at all not even for $ 5, though I have the room it is ment for. At DAZ I can find several texture sets for that room for much less and with top quality. Of course I got them too... ;)

A mistake is only human and as far as I know, no robots work at Renderosity ;( Just be happy with your top quality textures from Daz, no need to worry about a mistake when you do not even want the texture. tsss

BTW, if that is the set I am thinking of, there are 23 props in it, it's not just a texture set, which would explain the price tag. The promo could be better worded on that, but if you take a closer look you will see them. At $20 it's still a little pricey, but it isn't just a texture set for an existing room.

23 Props or not, 'a bit pricey' or not, that it not what the post was intended to point at. As mentioned before, I'm absolutely not interested in that set (even if it would be for free). My post was directed toward the possibility to set a discount to 1% (you may have realiszed, that English is not my mother language and though I understand a lot, it is still difficult to find the correct words...). Fact is, it IS possible to set a discount to 1% (which was immediately assumed a 'mistake' by KimberlyC), so why is it still allowed? Why doesn't Rendo set a value for a minimum discount as it does for a maximum? This time it was a 'texture set plus more' and next time? The same question again from a differnt customer? But ok, I'm out of this, no need to reply. Wish Rendo and the remaining vendors/customers all the best for the future (they'll need it after this 'exiting revolution')...

I'm finding it less and less "exciting" to try and find stuff I want to buy around here myself these days. Regrettably as I used to quite like the place. It isn't the "1%" problem I'm just finding it more and more difficult to quickly locate things I am interested at prices I am willing to pay. Rendo seems more interested in pushing stuff in my face I either have no interest in, or have already bought. When I do find something I like, deciphering whether the price is any good or not is confusing. I can come up with plenty of examples as you did with this one.

The 'revolution' was a great mistake. We know, they know, but they never will agree with that. At least they will know it when they get their next accout balance. What has changed? No more emails (hh, most of their customers have complained to get too much emails?). Really? And they do think, hiding the sales and news in an 'active feed' would leed to a better result dollar wise? Really again? Or changing the once functional and accepted site, where everything was easy to locate, will lead to more income? Wake up, people! Scrolling through the whole market place is no longer possible, just by departements? No, sorry, that's not the way the world is working... I have more and more the impression that Rendo is now led by people who have never done any render in Poser or Daz, but are very strongly connected to social media like facebook, twitter and similar crap. And the same people are trying to get Renderosity 'social media' compatible, because that is the only thing they know, trying to sell us as a 'revolution', just forgetting where the money is coming from that pays their salaries. Also, where are the vendors gone that I have seen over and over again each week in the news departement? Great vendors with amazing stuff, where have they gone nowadays? What I see here is just a shadow of what it was before the 'revolution', I feel with this vendors and I miss them! Hopefully I'll find them somewhere else sooner or later, it would be a shame if they would have been forced to quit business because of the terrible decisions here at Rendo. I also was really surprised when I read that StaceyG has left Rendo. She was a person that I trusted in any way. Did she left because she (and only she) could see what that changes would bring and she jumped the sinking ship early enough? If so, she has my full understanding...

But why would anyone put in a 1% sale if it's not a mistake? Can you think of any way the vendor would benefit from doing so that would outweigh the embarassment?

It's the same vendor again, 1% a week ago and 1 % today. A glitch should have effects to more vendors, wouldn't it? Don't ask me what is behind this, but the same 'mistake' again from the same vendor? But the main questions is and was, why does Rendo allow a discount of one percent? Why isn't there a minimum value so we have no need to talk about 'mistake, glitch or what other...'.

I am pretty sure that I am not allowed to take screnshots or quote directly from a vendors only forum.

But I just went in and checked and I can say this: Last week, several vendors were extremely upset about discovering that their products were on a 1% sale when they had in fact set a completely different amount. At least 3 vendors were affected. The vendors were NOT happy.

So site glitch, yes. There have been many bugs after the update and continuing changes. So please take that into account. Do email staff about it so they can put it on their list to fix. :)
