Subject: WW under arm issue with shirt converson from P4 to P5

hamiltonpl ( ) posted Mon, 28 September 2015 at 5:05 PM · edited Tue, 07 January 2025 at 6:26 AM

I am converting the Men's Sweater from a P4 Male to P5, P6, and P7. In every case the conversion and morphs transfer and the shirt looks pretty good. However, there is a nagging under arm issue that is noticeable when bending the Shoulder. Basically, the mesh on the P4 moves in proximity to the bended group but after the WW conversion - under the arm where the shoulder - it just stays rigid creating some odd geometry.

Here are some pics:

Now here is the strange geometry where the mesh isn't giving on the P5: p5benddown.jpg

Is there an adjustment I can make to make the mesh act a little bit more realistic on the converted Shirts? I've tried copying joints and moving the inner and outer mats but it seems ot have no effect. Thanks!!

Is it a jcm dependency that isn't propagating to the conversion. Just a wild guess. It may copy over the morphs but not the relations.

I imagine you could show all parameters/dials in regard to the above and do some sleuthing for completionists sake, particularly in the troubled region... which is a prime candidate for a jcm.

What is a JCM? And where would be the best place to correct the dependency? Thanks!

here's the other bend of the P4 showing that the mesh works correctly prior to the Wardrobe Wizard conversion:

You'll need to make adjustments to the joint parameters.

Yup - good old joint parameters; it is the zrotation that you need to tweak. Getting a lot of that in my own projects right now.

Yes I have moved the inner and outer mats around but they do not affect the funky mesh issue as the collar butts up against the chest. This occurs when BENDing the Shoulder up and down and mostly down is the ISSUE.

What do you mean by Zrotation? All I have done is reposition the spheres per PhilC's doc on his page and usually that works on SPIKES great. But not so much on this.

Thanks!

I have the JOINT EDITOR window on BEND. I see that you have a jointz - where is that? I don't see it in the pull down. Thanks

Ok the JointZ is the red/green adjustment levers in the pic. Took me a while to see that when I click on them - the jointz shows up. I played around with Affected Actors and ADDED Chest to the SHOULDER joint. When I did it corrected most all of the problem.

Is there any GOTCHA on using the Affected Actors tab?

Click the joint editor "Affected actors" button and include the chest.

Yes, I did, and that worked. Thanks for all the help.
