Gabe, you are soooo lucky to have these girls at your beck & call - it's the other way around with me - one of the girls at work wants me to do some pictures - badgers me every day about it - but I'm nervous about actually doing it - firstly I've no idea what to do at all, and it's getting a bit cold out in our part of the world. Even though I've found a studio for hire at last I haven't got the spare cash to go throwing 20 an hour at someone..... gawd. need ideas!! HELP! (Damn fine picture btw.) (",)
Hardwick, thanks!!!!! Jordy, Have confidance, If you need to get a copy of Cosmo or Maxum, and get some ideas, then do so and take it from there. Fear is the greatest killer. Just do it and don't think to much about it. syyd, thank you, I aprecialte the congrats, and am really happy right now!!! Rork1973, well I had sergery on mn my leg a not so long ago so I have been staying local as much as i can, and am in the prosses of moving my studio. (Bad Combo, and slow going.) but I have been trying to squeese the most out of the last of the nice days here. When it turns to winter, it becomes bitter, so I have to do the most with as much as remains, if you will. Picnic, I am an artist who loves to document beauty... I do kinda hunt for the local agency (unoficialy) and am content in just working and helping with portfolios and traning, though I really am getting back into the fashion industry after a very long hiatus. I had a really devistating expiriance dealing with a model I became close friends, almost like family, with a number of years ago, and am now finding the convition and curage to face the reality of it. I think I owe that to Samara, the new model, because the trust and faith she has put in me & working with Carly has definatly helped alot. Not only did I educate her on what she needs to do for the camara, but also how to avoid the scum of the industry, and avoid geting hurt, raped, or scamed. I'm not going to let history repeat itself with one of theese girls. What I usualy post are from "Scrap shoots" to get imput on alot of things including what they need to work on, more heads are better than one. As for selling theese images, I wouldn't know how to go about it since there is no real market that I can think of for people wearing there own cloathing, that is going to be out of style by the time it would get printed. That's why I try to get the models to wear things that aren't trendy, and avoid wording or logo's from companies. If you have any ideas though I'd love to hear them, Then I could give them tare sheets instead of prints!!! Alpha, I already know she already mentioned it to the client, because I have been asked to submit a Book, so all is great. LOL guys and galls -Gabe-
Gabe, sorry to hear about the physical limitations....I hope you didn't feel offended. Sometimes I get carried away with all the ideas that I think off when I look at all this nice work =) What I meant was that an autumn scene somehow looks a bit boring, and doesn't do the girl much good. I don't mean that it's not well done, or that the leaves aren't nice....I just think that nature in autumn doesn't need anything else to make it look pretty, and so does that girl :) And two nice things together don't make it twice as interesting ;) Looking at your picture I tried to imagine some unusual locations to shoot a similar shot...like an empty parking lot early in the morning, with the sun coming out on a nice clear day. Or some kind of industrial area with steel, concrete, whatever....something with only huge things, without any small objects in the background. Or for those with enough guts, go to a busy street just before it gets dark (when cars turn their lights on) and stand in the middle of the road, and take pics while she stands still for a sec and the cars will make those white and red lines (not long ones, but like the cars are just not faded out). Know what I mean ? ;) I didn't meant it personally, but just what I'd love to do whever I'd have the chance to work with a model =) Anyway, love to see more photos!
