I used it a long time ago. Different version, but similar functions and workflow.
A few things, just from memory and from some knowledge of how some other similar proggies work:
Don't rename the figure in the CR2 for best compatibility options. Renaming the cr2 is fine, but if you rename the figure, some progs might not accept it. (This is hit or miss and I don't know why they're choosing to read the user-selectable name instead of the protected figure designation.) Also, load the figure up and let it be the only figure of its class in the scene. (ie: Not the second V4 in the scene.) Then, save it as a cr2, so you don't get the V4 1, V4 2, etc autonaming issue.
Make doubly sure that there is only one figure in each of the cr2s. If you have a conformed figure in there or anything other than just the geometry and rigging that's supposed to be in there, it will probably balk as you describe.
It has been a very long time since I used that program. (I do that stuff by hand, as necessary, these days.) It IS, however, a very nice program for what it does and it gives you far more options than most with a very nice ability to hand edit, visually, the morphs and such. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone interested in that sort of thing.
As always, on today's OS's, make sure the program has access to what it needs. Set it to always run as administrator, especially if it's accessing things out of its directory structure and writing/caching outside of it.
It sounds like you're trying to transfer morphs to a clothing model when the program wasn't really designed for that, which could be why you're getting the error message about selecting a unimesh figure. Can I ask why you're using a clothing converter to add morphs to clothing? You might be better off using Morphing Clothes. I use it all the time and it's great for copying morphs from V4.2 to the clothing. Of course, the bigger issue is: which V4 clothing doesn't come with the morphs?

Thanks, everyone. This was actually two separate questions: I'm not transferring morphs to the clothing from the figure, but from the original clothing that I'm converting, and it's supposed to be able to do that. On the other question: To be more specific, I'm trying to convert clothing from M4 to V4 male (which doesn't have a lot of clothes.) Since the male shape is not automatically supported, I first converted it to V4 and then tried to convert that to the male morphed V4 (actually I first tried to convert it directly from M4 to the morphed V4 but that didn't work.) I was using a CR2 that I saved just for that purpose, so there was nothing else in the scene, and I didn't rename the figure. Tried running it as an administrator, it didn't change anything.

I posted this question on the Daz forum since that is where I bought it, but it has just been sitting there for a few days with no replies so I'm going to post it here too, because I really would like to solve this.
"
If anyone is using the program Clothes Converter 4.0, I have the following issues:
If I try to convert to a morphed version of a figure, by entering the clothing item, the base figure, and the morphed figure, and then hitting "autoconvert" just like it shows in the video, I get the message "Auto Convert will only work with Unimesh and other select figures." But I am trying to convert from V4 to a morphed V4, just like he did in the video.
I am also not able to copy morphs from the original clothing item. I was wondering if I am doing this wrong: The only place I see any mention of it is in the output tab, there is the checkbox that says "copy morphs." If I check this box and hit "save," a window pops up asking me if I want to load morphs and I say "ok," but it never actually loads any. It either gives me an empty box or it says it is out of memory. I have verified that the morphs are built into the cr2, they're not pmd's. I have tried it with many different items and not been able to load morphs for any of them, so it's not just a problem with one specific item.
Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I would really like to be able to use this."
Thanks.
