Hi Robyn
I came across this info that might be pointing to possible bug and it was recently posted here is the link and you can read it and determine if it is similar to what your are experiencing http://community.cgcookie.com/t/need-help-for-verifying-blender-bug/2658/2 the only other reference I can find mentioning that error from launching from a terminal is concerning missing OpenGL drivers and that link is here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=200242 As to the first question I am do not have any info if that is at all possible sorry on that one

Thanks Lobo... actually, your answer pointed to another door I'd never considered before, which did provide answers to some burning Python scripting questions that have been plaguing me these past few days. Thank you EVER so much!

I have a skin images folder, a building images folder and nature images (like leaves and bark). I'd like to keep them all separate and not lump them all together in the same folder. In an OS PATH statement, you can concatenate several paths, like for development environments and app-specific stuff... anyone seen that done in the User Preference File section for Paths? (not seen it myself, but just wondering).
Also, this might be related: when I launch Blender in Mint, I launch it from Terminal (so I have any Python errors echoed there). The first line that always come up on launch seems to be:
connect failed: No such file or directory
Any idea what this is about?
