Subject: New problem with V4 eyes

VolcanicMink ( ) posted Sun, 18 October 2015 at 9:03 PM · edited Tue, 14 January 2025 at 9:32 AM

Been working on a V4 character and have switched eyes a few times. At some point I picked up some image flaws, from Fantasy Eyes, I think. The flaws show in both the Preview and the Render, and no matter what eye mat I change to or what part of the eye I change in the Material view, I can't get rid of the flaws. Any suggestions?EyeCapture.PNG

How about a material comparison with V4 eyes that don't do that? A screenshot of the materials used would be useful as well.

Settings would be good, but from what I see it's a reflection on the cornea... and on the tear. Do you have a skydome in the scene?

Online Now!

That's the same assessment I derived from the image. Which Poser version are you using?

I think the OP has deserted their own thread.

PP12. This is just the figure in the default Pose and Material setting. Didn't change light settings or anything else outside the "body" or "head". In fact, the eyes were the only thing I was playing with. As for a comparison, anything I change to seems to retain the reflection. I never (voluntarily) added a reflection. I'm only using Eye Candy (SV), Fantasy Eyes (Angie M.) and 5Star eyes for V4. I'll try going back to the original V4 to play with the eyes and see if I find anything.

Ok. Seems to be just the Eye Candy (Vol.1) doing this now. Fantasy Eyes and 5Star Eyes seem to work, most of the time. Sometimes the iris changes to a flat tan color (?). I'm attaching the 5Star version.

Does anyone else use Eye Candy?V4 5StarEyes.PNG

That has a painted-on reflection...
