Chat unstable the last week.

Chat became increasingly unreliable the last week...kicking everyone out, making clones of users and extreme lag.

Can someone prune, clean, fix it for us please?

The last week we all gotten disconnected multiple times during the day. Sometimes we experience an extreme slowness in chat when the typed words come through after 30 seconds or so before the kick. And sometimes it kicks us all out without warningsigns. And when it reconnects again, we seen clones of users.

And we also can be in chat getting double messages but saying we're disconnected like i just was

Yeah, it's really wonky. Threw us all out again this morning. Then it remembered to throw out the others that made it through the hiccup. lol

I'm also able to eavesdrop on chat if I close my laptop and reconnect later on another connection. I don't appear, I can't post, I see everyone double post, but I'm thinking you don't want people peeping.

chat.renderosity.com:8082 is down at the moment, and it hosts the socket.io.js framework that makes chat work. Every other piece of JS the chat uses is hosted elsewhere (either on port 80 or an external content delivery network), but socket.io is the glue that manages web-based chats that aren't just frontends to some IRC server.

Port 8082 is probably reserved for chat communication which is why the page still loads (because that happens over port 80).

Admins, feel free to correct everything I probably got wrong here.

We're like a bunch of junkies having withdrawals.... throws pink biscuits in the air to calm the Biscuit....

Didn't make much of a difference for me cause my motherboard got FRIED on FRIDAY and I spent all day Saturday & half of Sunday fixing it. I knew something wonky was going on with the motherboard when Poser started flickering like a strobe during renders. I would have been up and running on Saturday evening had it not been for driving 40 minutes to Miami to buy a new motherboard that I ended up having to take back on Sunday because the VGA port was defective..... So much for getting some promos done over the weekend.
