Subject: Renderosity Free Site Skin: Razor Devolution

Razor42 ( ) posted Fri, 20 November 2015 at 1:12 AM · edited Mon, 04 November 2024 at 5:26 PM

This site skin is for Renderosity using the chrome browser and the free [Stylebot] (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stylebot/oiaejidbmkiecgbjeifoejpgmdaleoha?hl=en) CSS editor App

I've taken a hatchet to the site and attempted to reduce things back to a more simple and straightforward UI. While it isn't a perfect solution by a longshot it does offer some good points.

  1. Suppressed ads site wide - Guaranteed to reduce advertisements by at least %90
  2. Declutter of pages, I have removed lots of buttons and doodads that frankly I never saw the use of
  3. Square thumbs throughout the website (All thumbs are stretched to 250x250)
  4. A cleaner gallery image page (to see the full size image just view full size image on the image page)
  5. Reduced banner head footprint

Plus numerous other style changes and layout shifts, While there is a lot more that needs to be fixed, it's a start. Let me know what you think or if you find it useful or I can make any suggested changes also.

INSTRUCTIONS: Download the .txt file install Stylebot and import style with stylebot css control and paste the contents of the .txt file click okay. It's easy to revert whenever you want also

Thank you Razor will give this a spin :)

The dust settled, thinking "what a fine home, at least for now" not realizing that doom would soon be coming in the form of a vacuum cleaner.

I like everything you did except changing the aspect ratio of the images... Otherwise, love this and would use it.

Yeah I agree, losing the correct aspect ratio is far from ideal. I did try some other options but they seemed to create more problems of their own. It's the price for having an orderly looking gallery page and full size views show in correct proportions.

Oh my gosh!!! I kept putting off trying this, didn't think it could possibly work, but I just tried this out and couldn't be more impressed!!!!!! Had no idea you could do something like this. This is awesome if for no other reason then the gallery thumbs are lined back up in neat little rows that I can easily see. You rock!!!!! Having the neat rows are so extremely important, especially for a writer's gallery. I often have to go back to a previous chapter and look at something I wrote... like the color of someone's eyes, or where I said they were born... so on and so on, and it is extremely difficult, if not completely impossible to do so with the galleries all jumbled up (at least it is for someone with dyslexia, it was so screwing with my head, and I haven't been bothered by that little hiccup in a long time). Thank you so much for this.
