Subject: Can you transfer clothes to a custom figure, transferring the morphs?

Hi,

I am making a custom figure, and was wondering if I could use existing clothes for other figures; transferring them on my custom figure.

FYI, I am not planning to sell the clothes; I simply have a lot of clothes for various figures; and I would like to use them on my custom figure too; this is the only reason.

If that is possible, I am planning to get Poser Pro Dev; and then use the assets for either a game or an educational interactive application.

Before spend time and money, I was wondering if someone can give me some input on this.

I know that PP dev edition, can export in FBX and also allow you to use the assets legally in your applications (some assets; not clear on what is possible to be used). It is also able to decimate the figures, for a more game engine friendly, and if I am not mistaken, can morph any cloth or prop to any of the standard figures. Beside that; I am still learning what else can be done with it.

I own Poser 10 BTW.

So, is it possible for me to import a rigged figure in Poser, add clothes for V4 for example, and transfer somehow the morphs and rig from the figure to the clothes (or something like that)?

the fast answer is : Yes

you can use the fit room (p10, p11) to convert clothing to any figure, with more or less work depending. That will allow you to change both shape and then the rigging to match your new figure. You can then use the morph transfer tool to move your figures morphs to the new clothing, and the morph brush to clean up any morphs that went funny in the process

Thanks; so I have to move to Poser Pro then. P10 does not have the fit room.

I was not sure if it will work also for custom figures; so now I can go on with the purchase.

Did anyone tried this already? Any tutorial available for custom figures?
