Subject: Genesis 2 - Poser 11 pro - clothing problem

marvlin ( ) posted Mon, 23 November 2015 at 1:04 PM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 5:05 PM

Hi guys,

I have recently upgrade to Poser 11 pro from Poser pro 2014.

The upgrade seems to have gone okay apart from the following issues:

  1. Daz install Manager doesn't have the option to select Poser 11 pro as the type of software in apps. Not a biggy this as I can install manually but a bit of a head scratcher all the same.

  2. When I select genesis 2 clothing it used to automatically conform perfectly in PP2014. However in P11P it doesn't even look like it is made for the model. The figure I am using is set to 98 percent but that didn't make a difference in PP2014.

  3. I have been messing about uninstalling the dson importer and installing it trying to get this to work and now when I try an open PP2014 it crashes.

My questions are:

  1. Is there an obvious thing I am missing here as regards the clothing not conforming properly.

  2. I seem to remember there being a problem running two versions of Poser in the same directory? Is that right? If so could that be causing my conforming problems?

  3. Can anyone shed any light on thge daz instal manager issue?

Thanks guys

Martyn

DAZ Install Manager obviously hasn't been yet been updated to reflect the existence of Poser 11. Try setting it to Poser Pro 2014 until they do. I'd download DSON importer from your DAZ Product Library and install it manually. EDIT; I reread your post; I think you need to reinstall it for PP2014 manually, too.

As far as loading Genesis' conforming clothing, try Scripts>DSON Support>Transfer Active Morphs and see if that makes it fit...

Hi WandW

Thanks for replying.

I did try the manual install of PP2014 but it didn't stop the crashing.

I am tempted to uninstall PP2014 and P11P and start again LOL.

I elected to install to the public directory as opposed to the old style runtime and I am thinking I should just install to a conventional runtime this time and see how we go.

To confirm though. Am I okay running two different versions of poser on my primary drive or is it better to just have one?

I have Poser 7, PP2012, PP2014 and Poser 11 on the same machine.

DON'T install content into the Poser program runtime. You can install the content into any folder outside the C:/Program Files hierarchy

I don't think the uninstaller for the DSON importer works properly, as when I run the installer, it always shows the original install path, PP2012. To manually uninstall DSON importer, delete the DSON folder in [Poser version]/runtime/Python/addons, and the DSON Support folder in /runtime/Python/Poserscripts/ScriptsMenu

I just now got around to installing the DSON Importer in Poser 11, and is it slow compared to running under PP2014! The clothes do conform properly for me, at least on Mei Lin 6, but loading a DSON item borks the library; some folders can be browsed afterwards, but no contents show up, requiring a restart of Poser... 😒

Online Now!

It is not necessary to manually install DSON to PP2014 using DIM and it should be to core Poser folder. It is a script after all. You can run different Poser versions off the same drive as long as they are not run simultaneously; I don't know what type of memory drain you will encounter with 2 of them open.

Hi all,

Thanks for your help on this.

I have re-installed P11P and deleted the old dson files as directed.

I have also as advised installed the P11P content along with my other runtimes on a large seperate drive.

Having installed the dson files to the P11P directory it all seems to be working fine now.

Thanks for your help. Not really sure what the problem was TBH but your advise helped me solve it so much appreciated.

Regards

Martyn

The download manager defaults to your older poser serial number. As soon as you start the download manager change the serial number to the Poser 11 serial....et voila. Also the content won't install until the Poser 11 is installed. I did reboot before continuing and the contents were reverified and installed. Still can't get the library to work at all.
Netherworks on RDNA has a workaround to use the old LSMGUI but it is not 100 percent.

I have the same problem so you can use the Internet Explorer, no other browser works, and open the file : Your parth/Poser 2011/Runtime/ui/Flex/LSMGUI/bin-release/LSMGUI.html and the library shows up. Make sure you use the html file.

Thank you but I get a bubble error with IE. But as Dimension3d said, the /poser2011/Runtime/ui/AIR/LSMGUI/LSMGUI.exe does mostly work.
