Subject: Poser v. Adobe bug after a recent Windows 10 update

Anthony Appleyard ( ) posted Tue, 05 January 2016 at 10:12 AM · edited Thu, 07 November 2024 at 1:32 AM

Thread linked to here: "My Poser 10 has stopped working"

Ref that thread, please is there an estimated time/date for when one of these will be done?

(1) Smith Micro Software supplies a patch to Poser 10 so that it will run with the new Windows update

(2) Microsoft supplies a new Windows update to get rid of the bug.

Smith Micro is aware of these issues and in contact with Microsoft.

There is already a post elsewhere that a fix has been released by Microsoft but it is only available through Windows Update which should appear and download automatically. Otherwise, force Windows Update to manually check. And it is an Adobe Flash problem, not Smith Micro.

But WHEN??? will that new update appear in public and start auto-loading itself into users' computers? My Poser 10 still won't run. I have Windows 10 Home.

Or must I update my Adobe? And how to update my Adobe? Or should Adobe also update automatically?

Adobe is a separate notification and will prompt you literally when you open P10. I checked the Microsoft website yesterday when the fix was announced. As per the site, the fix will only be available through Windows Update. Go to Windows Update and manually force it to check for updates. Otherwise, wait for an auto download. I also have Win 10 on my system, but I am unaffected because I initially made my Library external in PP2014.

Poser pro 2014 and poser 10 now work on my windows 10 box. I had the automated update setting turned on and it looks like the update happened. So the new windows update fixed it.
