Design a Room

New Year ... New Challenge.

Here are the rules.

  1. Original design. You can use a room builder, but 75% of the design must be your own
  2. No "living" creatures, (People, Animals ...)
  3. Share your process or technique to help others learn

Have Fun!! Here is mine. Superfly re-design from an older firefly scene. Changed interior lighting from diffuse to area, and increased sun intensity. Original floor set up. Rough render for sample. Let me know if you want the floor settings. 😁

Love the floor, reflections are always good :D

I hope its ok, but if i could make some suggestions if you are still working on the scene. The background seems a bit stretch so i tried to replace it with a more detailed sky map.

Also a good idea i think, would be to break the straight line outside the door, the area which i marked with red. Meaning throw in some benches maybe some flowers etc. Just so you don't get a straight line between the sky and the floor. Think that could really spice it up and you would get a nice feeling of something happening inside but also outside.

The map i used for the sky I just added in PS, so it would look better when rendered i think and i added some noise etc to match your render. But its actually part of a high quality HDRI package with 10 different sky maps, that you can download for free from here, if you need some: http://www.viz-people.com/portfolio/free-hdri-maps/

But think you can get a really nice image out of it.

Great points. Need to redo the scaling on the panorama for sure ... as for the strait line ... I placed a floor plane outside the house to deter from the blank background from the hemisphere. It was a quick and dirty fix. I really like what you did.

Ok, I'm breaking my own rules here to show a feature I really like that folks aren't taking advantage of. This is a preloaded set ... "modern classroom" from RPublishing. I've made the "bulbs" mesh lights cranked the ambient level to 200 and rendered. NO Poser lights at all. Again a rough Superfly render, but the effect is nice. What do you all think?

I think it looks nice. The light gives a nice feeling, that this classroom is not a place of fun :D

Anyway here is my addition to your mini challenge. Now it have a bit of a different theme i guess and is actually not meant for this, but a room is a room i guess :D

It probably make little sense, so here is the actual image after PS etc, even though there is a person in it. So sorry for breaking the rules :D

Oooooo.... very Matrix-esque!

If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.
