Way to go, Paul! (Follow the link to view Paul's "Imaginary Places" image.) Looking forward to see what Theme you come up with for October! :)Oh yes, one thing I wish to add: BIG thanks to Varian, for dealing with this months' VC! And also for getting some actual, quality use out of the Renderosity/Vue Annex site. When I implied a certain lack of professionalism, believe me, it's on me, and definitely not Varian. :) But, as I said, it'll get better. :) And, I gots to tell ya, Varian has a cold right now and doesn't feel so great. He has agreed to eat some chicken soup, but unless it's laced with Vitamin C, I can't se as how it'll do any good. At least his grandma will be happy. ;) So, y'all also have to bug Varian to get better soon. :)
I won??? Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather, I thought it was going to be the other guy, Axe... :) Thank you very much Mike, Varian and Larry for the warm congrats... also, I think that the challenges are being handled proffesionally, I don't see any slip ups.. :) We-ell, I guess I now get to pick the challenge for the next month... How about... (thinking here)... How about a high quality still life?? Something where you get to use some cool lighting get real intimate and artistic like a fine arts painting... Does this sound like a challenge people want to do??? Also, you can use post processing if you want to make it look impressionistic or whatever...
Congratulations paul. It IS a really good picture. Now I can start thinking about what I am going to make for this month :)
Great pick, Paul! Traditional still life images usually have some kind of cloth showing (it's not necessary, of course). So to go along with the Theme, the new Challenge will be: procedural fabric materials. Maybe we'll be able to come up with some good methods of creating fabric textures within the material editor. :) And thanks Mike and all! I'm slurping more'n my share of chicken soup, plus gobbling vitamin C. I haven't had a cold in years, and this one seems to want to make up for lost time. :/
Well, I'm glad that everybody is happy with the new challenge... Thank you all for the kind words and that so many folks were happy with the pic... And yes, Varian's suggestion is a good one, for those of us that can figure out how to do cloth in vue... I'm still trying to get vue to render to disk... it still won't do it and Eon doesn't know what to do... :)
Goodness, Varian, I hope you get better. But it's always okay to have tea and honey. Frankly I have some several times a week. My Aunt Lurleen, who will be 98 in six weeks, always pushes it. I can take the hint. About that cloth, you are exactly right. Looks like a winner! Can't wait to -- Ha ha -- "Vue" the results. Larry F

Well, it was a tough one, and a close one...not many entered this past month, but then again, this was a somewhat screwed-up month for all the world...and it appears to be getting even more-so ........ BUT, we have a September winner! Congrats to Paul, aka, Tradivoro for his picture. :) He now has the dubious distinction of naming the challenge for the month of October. The october Vue Challenge begins now, Once Tradivoro announces what it is, and will last until November 4, at which time we will take 2 days to vote...and so it goes. ................................ There are things in the works... I think that by the end of the year, we will see a litle bit more proffessionalism in how the monthly VC's are handled, especially in their delivery. I know that right now it's kind of awkward, but it'll get better. :) ...... So, a big "Congratulations!" to Paul (tradivoro) for winning, and an equal amount of "Congratulations!" to everyone else who entered during this most-trying month. .......................... So, I guess, now we wait and see what he comes up with..... Cheers! Mike
