For Genesis and Genesis 2 there is the DSON Exporter to export the whole figure, for Genesis 3 it is possible to export the figure but it will not really work and it is, as far as I know, not that easy.

If it's made for Poser and DAZ then your good probably but if it's only made for DAZ ,Then for firefly, superfly the maps will probably work in Poser but you might need to tweak then in material room .The shaders are a definite maybe. Each mesh compatibility will differ .
DAZ has octane also so I don't know about compatibility there.
You would save your self alot of trouble if your going to use DAZ and Poser .Render in the App your using at the time.

I don't expect to pose or tweak figures from daz in poser, just import some into poser as obj and render in the million tonne of scenes I have already built in poser for my massive sci fi graphic novel project, I don't really want to rebuild everything in daz (including my characters) just to use some "daz only" content. It is just getting frustrating that many daz vendors and daz themselves are not offering enough content in dual format, daz and poser as they used to. Forget about genesis for a sec-there are a lot of scenes and props that I would have spent my money on if they could be used in poser. I just thought obj export may have been a reasonable work around. Maybe I will just have try this for my self-after all daz studio is free and I will have some content that will load into it without any initial outlay from my budget. cheers

Yes Daz Studio will export the objects and an .mtl file that points to texture maps (you can also have the textures collected together in a folder when exporting). The basic textures will load into poser when you import the model but you'll need to add things like normal maps, bump maps etc yourself. It works very well if you don't mind doing things in the material room
I can see a workflow happening here-build a scene or character in daz-export as obj-tweak materials in poser and then save tweaked materials in a poser material library file- every time I import a variant of said scene or character I just re apply materials without too much effort I hope. I also use the octane render for poser plug in and use a lot of octane live data base shaders any way. looks like I have a bit of experimenting to do-Thanks adzan, your post has given me a little hope cheers

I'm exporting most of to 3DS MAX or Poser where I render most of my works from DS,its easy there
You can collect all maps to specific folder,regarding exporting specific part,yes you can,but there I would suggest hide other parts which you don't want to export like,you want to export G3F with hair and clothing,I usually export G3F alone,then hair and at the end clothing,if I want specific scene from DS export as some are not available with DSON then I export this scene too and then load to my preferred SW,in my case Poser or 3DS MAX

Scenes in DAZ can be exported in.duf format and imported into Poser with D3D's DSONLoader. It might be a little bit more convenient to attempt this workflow.
Doubtful. You have to remember that with DSON, you are limited to 2GB per process. With the insane sizes vendors make texture sets, it is easy to run up against it with just 1 fully clothed genesis figure. Add a second clothed genesis figure and Poser starts to get balky.
The OP's best bet is to export out each DS item out of DS (save as Poser .cr2), and use it as a Native Poser figure. When you ditch DSON, the genesis figures become fairly lightweight (mine run about 80 Mb, with all the morphs & trimmings.)
Thank you Jura for your insight and helpful image links. In the daz obj export options I take it you also check the "collect maps" option to have all the textures in one file location for easy import into poser? Any way, like I said I just have to get into experimenting myself, your help has given me hope of some success Cheers

I am a hard core poser user, but I am thinking of trying daz studio, but only if obj export works well to use all their new genesis figures and content, exported to poser to then render{ I use firefly, superfly and octane plug in}. Does daz have a "collect scene inventory" function like poser does to make the use of material files easy? has anyone tried this approach and how successful are the results?
