Subject: Newsletter Sales Timezone Confusion

Biscuits ( ) posted Tue, 01 March 2016 at 1:30 PM · edited Sat, 16 November 2024 at 8:50 AM

In the Newsletters lately we get 180 minutes to save.

It goes from 9pm - 12 am, 12 am - 3 am, 3am- 6 am, 6am- 9 am. CST

So basically when you live in another timezone then CST, you have no idea when the sales are, and you miss them.

You miss them for sure when you are sleeping offcourse.

It's so confusing for people that aren't in the CSTzone.

So I converted them CST to CET.

4am - 7am

7am - 10am

10am - 1pm

1pm - 4pm

3 Hours is so little time to take advantage of the supersales. I didn't catch any sale yet!

Maybe please give each vendor 12 hours, then at least we have overlapping timezones.

Thanks Biscuits this issue has been raised already and passed on with the same reasons given here. In some countries it is impossible and even local there are members missing out on the sale due to work commitments and time zone issues. Hopefully they will sort something out soon. 12 hours min sounds good to me.

Hello,

The sales that are running now are just repeats of the sales that were ran the month of February.

We did this so people of all time zones would hopefully not miss it.

This is just something a little different we decided to do to spice things up a bit so it's not the same ole thing all the time.

Hope you have a wonderful day,

Here's a thought... Why not make the sales a little longer? Say, 24 hours? Then everyone on the planet gets an equal shot at the sale and nobody gets ticked off. Maybe that would spice things up?

In reality I'd be thrilled if were even just 12 hours, like the chorus is advocating.

Oh yes 24 hours is even better!

Heya Kristi!

Thank for your reply!

I really appreciate that a different thing is tried and that the sales roulate.

But this is just a bit a too complex setup for me.

I keep missing my chance to buy something in the sale!

Two reasons:

  • Timezoneconfusion

  • Too tight time slots

Please do expand to 12-24 hours, i really do think it will be much more effective.

Pretty Please?

I'm with Biscuits on this ... but to be fair I think it should be extended 48 hours. Make a good buffer zone for everyone. From Singapore to London to Denver to San Jose ...

But I missed the one I was interested in for the same reasons than 1st time, this is all wrong, I mean, the sale is invisible on the store, how can we get around when we're in different timezones ? Oo . Plus, this time, I received the mail after the 1st sale was over anyway...

KristiS ( ) posted Thu, 03 March 2016 at 5:16 PM

I am so sorry this happened to you as I am going to talk to the Marketplace staff tomorrow to see what (if anything) can be done.

Thank you, but in any case, I think that for sales with such a short time lapse, they should never be "invisible" on the store : Have a special price tag on them or something, during the 3 hours, like traditional sales.

KristiS ( ) posted Fri, 04 March 2016 at 4:07 PM

I am not sure why you are saying they are invisible as they should show they are on sale just as any other sale item.

Do you have a screen shot you can provide to me as if they were "invisible" in the store, you would not be able to see them.

Warmest Regards,

I think he's referring to the fact that they involve coupons rather than direct sales.

Also, it seems that TPtB's solution to the concerns raised by the admins is to simply end the sales, period -_- "my way or the highway" I guess.

Navi ( ) posted Sat, 05 March 2016 at 4:01 PM

Yes, IceEmpress is right, that's what I wanted to say : Since they're coupon sales, we don't "see" the sale while browsing the store, like we would when an item is discounted (small 30% red sticker, etc). That's what I meant by "invisible".

Thanks for the help,

I know you are at odds with the TPtB's over a few issues of late but you can be sure that the marketing department are listening to the members regarding the 3 hour sales and the associated timezone difficulties. A marketing department tends to focus when it's customers make suggestions to solve the problem of not being able to buy something. I don't see the sales ending or "my way or the highway" being suggested anywhere.
