Subject: Ad code killing site loading speed

The snippet of code below is killing the loading speed for this site on my fast cable modem. I can't imagine how bad it must be for people on slower modems or DSL.

img alt="Renderosity" src="https://bw-1651cf0d2f737d7adeab84d339dbabd3-bwcore.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/File9988.png" class="img-responsive padding-top-15"

So you're trying to make money by getting people to click on ads that are slowing down or killing an e-commerce site loading speed that exists to sell products to customers that have been complaining about the site speed, loading and ads ever since the redesign.

I'm just scratching my head on that one. Seriously.

Got news for ya AdBlock by doing it's intended purpose of Blocking adds also slows the overall speed of the site due to the fact it takes Resources to operate in blocking adds, however it is not as slow as allowing the adds to open, either way Adds kill speed no matter which way you go.

I do use adblock plus, have for quite a long time. The ads still try to load, and that's the problem, like Lenord said. The ad I mentioned was loading slow from the source, which does happen.

Looks like the file you're referring to is the Renderosity logo. This is not an ad.

The source for the snippet of code that was holding things up at the time I posted is clearly from here: https://bw-1651cf0d2f737d7adeab84d339dbabd3-bwcore.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/File9988.png

So they are hosting their images from Amazon Web Services. Again, I'm scratching my head on that one. Why not a dedicated server? Or even a VPS (Virtual Private Server)? Only one reason, to cut costs and this is most likely part of the issue with the site load times.

I don't know if a Paid Subscription here at Rendo, "Prime" membership or whatever it's called has any benefits other than Marketplace Bennies( and that's kind of iffy from the number of complaints I see expressed about "Prime") but places like DeviantArt give a Zero Ads option with a Paid Subscription/Membership...think about it...I'd almost be tempted to get a Subscription here just to Kill all the Ads...almost

Sadly no, being a Prime member doesn't kill the ads. It would be one hell of a perk at this point though.

U-Block is far better than Adblock Plus.

Rendo would have to pay ME at this point. I've gone from being here multiple hours a day to checking in once every two, three weeks....a month. Maybe.

I don't even have that element blocked and it doesn't slow the site down, TBH. What slows the site down for me is all those damned carousels. Then again, I have a bunch of other elements blocked--
