Subject: Poser Misbehaving Anyone Else having issues?

3DFineries ( ) posted Tue, 03 May 2016 at 1:22 PM · edited Tue, 01 October 2024 at 6:35 AM

For a while now, I've been having issues with Poser. Not sure if it was an update to Windows 7 that did it or if I have somehow corrupted a file on my computer. It's been throwing this whited out window every time I try to cancel a render, render, or load certain python scripts. I tried reinstalling, but it's still happening & driving me absolutely bonkers.

I'm on a Nvidia GeoForce 610 graphics card, Windows 7, 24 Gigs of RAM, I Core 7 Using Poser Pro 2014. Graphics card updated today & all Windows 7 updates are installed.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Send a report to SM. I'll also let them know. Started a thread at the official Poser forum for you on this.

It may be your graphics driver..did you try to go back to your previous graphics driver? May be worth a shot..

Does not seem to matter what driver it is. The problem is still there. Thanks for that Boni. Don't know why I didn't do that too.....

Did you try the "old" trick deleting the Poser.ini and maybe also the LibraryPrefs.xml?

SM contacted me & are walking me through a few 'fixes'. I had to delete more than just the library preferences, BUT I think it's working again after a complete file cleanup & reinstall.

. I use Poser Pro 2012 on Win 7 x64 Pro, and yes, this happens all the time when I try to cancel a render that's just started.

It goes away in about a minute, usually.

This White Storm happened to me last August and Smith Micro advised me that Poser 7 and 8 was not supported by Win 7 since they reached update number 198 ! I ran a Restore, got a clean out-of-the-box computer, informed Win 7 NEVER to look for updates (option 3 hidden away inside Win 7) then pulled the plug. My rendering compie runs fast and sweet with none of that Windows garbage hanging around its neck. Hope you find a solution that works for you.
