Subject: Daz V4 lower jaw controls?

mouser ( ) posted Sun, 22 May 2016 at 6:16 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 2:00 PM

Is anyone able to access the lower jaw on V4 for opening/closing? I am trying to get poser talk designer to behave, I've got the lips working but the jaw does not respond. Unfortunately the Translation & rotation dials are empty for the lower jaw.

You don't need the jaws s they are parented to the mouth. If you open the mouth the lower Jaw follows but if you don't see the dials for the Jaws, there is a python script by Dimension 3D here in the freebies called "Unhide dials"

The primary reason for the Jaw dial in V4 is so that the jaw can be shifted side to side, like Miki, Koji and other models. More realistic expressions.

For those with Poser Pro 11. Showing hidden parameters is built in:

Another little known feature that is a time saver.

I don't know the Poser version mauser uses, as far as I remember this is a feature of Poser 2014 and Poser 11.

I know, I just added this as a public service ... didn't know was in 2014. Thanks for the info.

Thanks everyone for the info, I'll get back to banging my head against talk designer;)

So created a mouth morph (open/close) but jaw stays shut.

Checked Hierarchy editor and the jaws are linked to the head not the mouth.

I don't think the jaws are parented to the mouth?

Any ideas?

Parented is not the correct expression, I would have better said it is conformed to the mouth. If you check the respective part of the cr2 you'll find for the lowerjaw:

actor lowerJaw:1

{

channels

    {

    rotateX xrot

        {

        valueOpDeltaAdd

            Figure

            head:1

            PHMMouthOpen

        deltaAddDelta 6

This shows that the lowerjaw is controlled by the Mouthopen morph.
