Subject: Skyrimming and Carrara

I recall a few years ago people making Skyrim mods posting on the old Carrara forum. Of course DAZ archived and lost those forums for us with the wealth of knowledge contained within. I am very late gamer development wise playing older games badly and Skyrim is one of those. I can import textures into the Creation Kit and Nifskope but mesh no luck so far, I need some advice on what to look for modeling or fixing existing mesh besides triangulating, know it needs that, but otherwise no idea what works and what does not, Blender nif python exporter was just as unsuccessful for me, I would render my DAZ models in it if I could too, as long as its only renders that leave my PC thats OK EULA wise. idealy I would actually like to model stuff for it myself though and my simple lowpoly models should work but nothing does not even a cube.

Are you using the FBX export? I seem to remember some success with that method.

I have not found an option to import FBX in Nifskope, in Blender it would export the same regardless I imagine but can try.

Looking at the Nifskope page it says it uses OBJ files http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope/Mesh_import_export http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope There is a little youtube video but it is talking about how easy to mod and not import/export and I see niftools is a number of projects doing a google search. I saw a plugin for Blender there for opening nif files, but the skope seems to export to .obj and import as well

well I am one step closer but still not getting there, I can get my obj or 3ds files into another build of nifskope but they do not work in the Creation Kit even replacing tri shape on a duplicate of an existing prop, just get a red and white triangle questionmark prop. Blender just errors, I can get mesh out of Skyrim easily enough.
