Kendra, Here's What I see after having reduced the screen display area to 80%. In the shot attached I have clicked on Mamota's MMPretty-AS-Skirt_DSetForV4EliteA Icon and just been redirected to the product. At 100%, or normal display I see much less. Jules, How do I enact (or when) "Ctrl-" and what is it supposed to do? Here's the screen shot (Hopefully):
You can gage by looking at the slider to the right how much effort it takes to see the whole page being presented. This is normal for Renderosity, but not most other sites. What you see is the entirety of my computer screen.
EDIT: OKAY I see: Ctrl - does the same thing as reducing the screen display size in the hash bar.
Hi 3dstories,
Can you please tell me if this is in Firefox and if you have tried switching to Google Chrome and if so, was it the same result.
I know that quite a few members have issues with Renderosity in Firefox and the issues are usually sporadic which has made it hard on the programmers to replicate the issues and fix them.
I have not heard of this issue before know but will do whatever I can to help with a resolution.
Thank you,
Kristi

Hi Kristi.
(1) I don't have Google chrome at the moment; I had troubles with it on a previous machine and did not load it. ...But I can look for a portable apps version over the weekend (same as regular but doesn't get into the registry). (2) For me this size issue has been consistent. You're looking at it through Firefox 46.0.1
Yes. Looked for the portable apps version of Google Chrome. Unfortunately it does not guarantee that it doesn't add anything permanent to my machine.
Except, perhaps, for the Renderosity site, Firefox works just fine. I don't want to muck up my machine adding a browser I would only use for Renderosity. Sorry. I am surprised that others don't have the same issues, though, as I don't think I'm doing anything special or unusual, and I don't think I'm being overly sensitive. It's just that nothing really fits; It's hard to view vendor products as the site seems oriented to a vertical format and all my screens are horizontal. It has been this way over a year now, that's why I thought it might be a business case.
Thanks Kristi.
I guess I'm sort of surprised that others don't have the same issue. Or maybe they do and they've decided to live with it? It's just that in the past I've spent so much time on the site. If most people are purchasing on Tablets or iPads these days rather than laptops or desktops (and then working on graphics stations) that might be an explanation? Just turn the tablet vertical, which I can't do on my machines.
DreaminGirl - I have not heard of this issue before now and it is not in the program we enter all the issues in for the programmer..
The programmer and I are working together to see what can be done.
Hope you all have a wonderful day

Kristi, it might not have been a reported issue, but there was a lot of complaints in the forums about it after one of the redesigns that was supposed to make the site more tablet friendly, but also made it more unfriendly for PC users. The response to the complaints at the time was pretty much 'this is how it will be'
I'll try to explain using the previously posted screenshot.
The site alert banner takes up WAAAAY too much space, and we should get the ability to remove it with the click of a button instead of being forced to read the actual alert, like it is now. This has been mentioned before.
This banner is rather superfluous as you can find all the same functions at the top of the page, marked with a #. At least make it optional, and let us change the settings for these menus in our personal settings.
This banner has useful information, but could easily have been placed as a SIDE-bar to free up space, instead of a top-bar. Again, let the users decide if they want it on top or on the sides where PC users have lots of free space.
This information , while useful, is also taking up way too much space on the top, and could be placed next to the product info, or again placed as a sidebar.
By removing all that clutter you will actually have freed up HALF THE PAGE! The most important part of the page should always be the product picture, but as it is, you have to scroll to see it. That is not good for the vendor either!
Hope this was some useful information and a tldr of what the complaints in the past have been about
For me the big picture is I am looking at a page design that seems to only really work vertically on my machines. Even if you take a way the banner, when promos are viewed you just can't see them other than maybe 1/3 at a time. Swipe fingers on a tablet or turn the tablet sideways and it's probably ok. But viewing on a graphics server or PC or laptop with a pad or a mouse as I do is downright painful. And, yes, has been since the redesign. I figured it would sort itself out, but it hasn't. If the majority of Rendo users purchase from a laptop or PC this may be a sizeable problem slowing sales. If the majority purchase from a phone or tablet it's probably not an issue. I figure it is probably a marketing case where most users purchase from phones or tablets and that I am in the minority, but I wanted to ask about it anyway.
Thank you both for all the information as this honestly on the list. We have a list of things we are working on fixing that are actual bugs on the site.
Once these are taken care of, we will then start focusing on design issues such as this.
Please know we have a lot we are working on and just because it does not get done today, does not mean we are not listening as we agree this is very important however we have to finish fixing what is broken first.
Warmest Regards,
Kristi

Can you either point me to an answer if this has been asked before, explain what I'm doing wrong, or explain a business case. Please no off- the cuff answers just to respond to this Question and summarily put it to bed. I'm really looking for a serious answer from whoever has made the decisions about this website or from someone who knows what I'm doing wrong..
I have some pretty expensive machines. I'm using Windows 7 right now, not 10, and typically go through Firefox. But Renderosity's site seems to have a vertical layout when everything I do with 3D graphics is horizontal. This means I almost never see full images, even if I dial the display down to 80% of full size. To some extent I see this on other sites, but I attribute that to a more common consumer preference for shopping with a cell phone or tablet, something I might do in a department store, no matter how luxurious, but which I do not do for 3D graphics materials. The issue is particularly frustrating on Renderosity of all the 3D sites I visit.
Is there something I can do get the site to view better (short of dumbing down to a phone or something) ? A different browser? A toggle that says rotate viewing preference? Do 3D professionals work mostly with Vertical screens? It's always like seeing just the top third of an 8x10 sheet whenever I'm shopping here.
If it were a problem for others I can't believe I'd be the only one with this issue so I assume there is a reason/solution.
