Subject: Is this possible with the "Walk Designer?"

Althought the WD has it's magic, I'd like to create a walk where a figure's upper body movements are independent of the lower body walk created by the WD. For example, I'm trying to animate a marching band member as he walks and carries an instrument to his lips? Is this even possible or does the WD commandeer the entire body?

just lock the body parts you dont want to move then apply thw wd walk then unlock the body parts and apply the remaining poses to the upper body
