Subject: All my Freestuff is now removed from this site

Lyrra ( ) posted Wed, 10 August 2016 at 4:28 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 6:57 AM

Heyas

I have deleted all my freestuff from this site. I would tell you where you can get it now, but they won't let me. I would tell you about the other poser sites you can contact me and find my work, but I can't.

Unless Renderosity seriously re-evaluates its approach towards being an alleged 'community' I am not interested in participating.

So thanks to everyone who has helped me with my various freestuff projects, and in my various threads. Hope to see you all someplace a little less like a police state.

You're not very good at 'hide-n-seek', I found you right off. See ya there.

I'm sorry Lyrra. Agree with You on all points... 😾

Yes never really understood this policy. I find that the beauty of the Internet is its connectivity. If I want to research a subject I can go from page to page, link to link and glean information from many and various sources. Something of a bummer when one bumps into a dead end.

I suggest that marketing scum have taken control from webmasters. They want their site to be all-inclusive and employ ever sleazier ways to keep one there including pretending that the rest of the net doesn't exist. I occasionally run into sites that disable the back button making it impossible to leave the site unless one closes the tab/window.

Hey all. I haven't been around much at all and I will be changing that very soon. However, I do cast my vote for more "reaching across the isles" in terms of cross-site cooperation, sharing and broadening the sense of community. It can be done while retaining your own sense of identity and marketplace volume. This has always been a very small community and keeping things isolated doesn't help with growth. Think of all the little places that we used to go that are dead. There isn't anything joyous in that. Rendo, think about being a leader in community that involves the whole of the Poserverse. Think of all the extra patrons you'd catch if you applied more honey than vinegar. Just something to ponder, perhaps. Well, back to the shadows for me! Thanks for reading.

Hey Joe, (sorry, I couldn't resist it!), good to see you, and re-hi. Hoping to see more activity on the Netherworks front soon. More lovely utilities for Poser 11, I'm hoping.

I don't post here much either - in fact a secondary reason for this reply is to see if the ebots have been fixed yet. After well over a year, the smart money says they're still broken, but you never know...

Anybody who can find my deviantArt account, and who likes reading rants (don't we all, sometimes), can read one on the subject in my journal there. (Hint: englishbob DOT deviantart DOT com 😃 )

I kinda fell out with Renderosity and it's forum rules over a year ago. The Blender forum was the only place where I was comfortable posting for a while. I left for other places, taking my freestuff for the Poser natives along with me. I recently started posting again in the Poser forum, but still not very much. Frankly, I don't trust Rendo very much and any rule changes they make will be believed once I see it.

Hear, hear :)

And sorry to see that yet another LONG time member - Lyrra - has taken their toys and left. It's Rendo's loss, whether they know it or not.

I've been seeing a lot on this topic lately and I'm sorry to see folks go...especially as I just rejoined here. But I've seen it before with "other" communities. I plan to vendor here..I've looked at other sites but I have to admit that a number of these sites have awful thumbnails. I'm an old lady and I need to be see at first glance what the product is like. It doesn't mean I'm not following favorite artists at other sites. But I'll hang here for now.

One could say "stay and fight for the community" but my personal philosophy is do what you need to be happy!

Well said there Joe. Just hope someone will listen and make the right changes. I'm sure that will encourage those folks who've stopped creating free content to start coming back.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

I think it would be nice to have renderosity weigh in here. Rendo, you've heard the community. What do you say?
