Subject: Can MAT files be thrown away when POSE files do the same thing?

willshetterly ( ) posted Fri, 14 October 2016 at 5:30 PM Β· edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 4:00 AM

I've got a lot of mat and pose files that seem redundant. Would the pose files stop working if I deleted the mat files that do the same thing?

Pose & Mat files are independent of each other. POSE files only work if there is a character in the scene, Mat Files work all the time.

Happy Rendering!

The trend now is to move towards MAT files for applying textures and reserving Pose files for just that, poses.

donnena and hborre, that's good to know. If I decide to delete redundant files, it'll be the POSE that will go. Thanks!

Yes, I agree with them, MAT files are now the trend for materials.
