Subject: Tank Tread rigging.....

hamiltonpl ( ) posted Thu, 20 October 2016 at 9:22 PM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 1:49 PM

Hello - I am new to Blender. I've noticed a few tuts on how to create a conveyor belt or tank treads and animate them. One video explained how to "rig" this. I primarily do all my animation in POSER. Is there a way to create a model with treads that will animate and export them to Poser?

Thanks in advance.

I think you will have to do your rigging in Poser. You could export the tracks in different positions and then use them as morphs to move them in Poser. Just a thought. Maybe some the Poser folks in here could give you a better answer.

The only way that I think you could build the whole model and blender and then export it as FBX and import into most current version of Poser Pro and seems Poser Pro 2014 Game Dev was a good solution for this type of export and import. The other way is like Cybermonk pointed out export your model from Blender in Obj and then rig in Poser in the set up room.

Hello hamilton

Here is a list from a search on Youtube that should give you a starting point https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=blender+tank+tracks I can not narrow it down to any one specific since this is one thing I have yet to try myself but you should be able to find a couple to your liking that can give you a start there are also some decent Blender tutorials https://vimeo.com/

Good luck

Thanks. What I am looking for are specific tutorials on rigging in Poser - for the treads. I've seen a couple of ways to do this in BLENDER but I don't see how you would do that same thing in POSER. I have Poser Pro 2012. Appreciate the help.

This might be a question better placed in the Poser Forum.
