Subject: Forum problems

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity

This has, as far as I know, been passed on but several weeks later, I've heard nothing, not even a "tough titty, we can't fix it/up yours, it's fine" in return.

My preferences are set to not receive notifications when someone replies but I have to uncheck the "Notify me" ever single damn time I make a post, or I get notifications, no matter what.

Another problem I haven't reported, but has now happened several times...

I make a post and forget to add a Language Advisory. I go back to edit, add the advisory but it doesn't take. I can edit the post just fine, I'm still within the time limit but the advisory will not stay and does not show up.

Someone please hit the forum software with a heavy object and tell it to work properly.

The Powers that Be, will be aware. Hopefully they will contact you and this will be resolved.

The - Notify me when someone replies - is the default. If posting a comment then the majority of the time the member is either following the thread or there could be a follow up question/response to their comment. It would be far more inconvenient for the members if the default was reversed and they had to remember to check the box each and every time. I am not sure about the language warning failing if it is still within the given edit time it could be a glitch. I will ask someone who is not staff to give it a go and see if they get the same issue.

Nope, not the point. I specifically have "No notifications" set in my profile. That should - and used to - override the default settings.

"Notify" is for Email Notification if someone posts to that forum. If you don't check Email Notification, you can still get emails on replies to individual posts you have made if you enabled that option when you made your original post.

When you make a comment you will have to manually override it. You never got the notifications before because the ebot system was broken and we didn't get the notice 80% of the time even if we wanted it If you don't uncheck the box. I believe you should only get the first few and then it falls away which I still see happening now if I am following a thread and return to find another 5-6 new comments.

Ah! I see. Right, can you break it again for me, please? :D

Took forever to get fixed but I will ask Kristi. Maybe they can add a broken and a fixed button so members can have their choice. I am on it.
