I finally moved up to P11 two weeks ago. It installed easily and worked nicely until today. Now I click on the desktop icon and the Windows blue circle rotates for about 10 seconds like the program is getting ready, then nothing. Task Manager doesn't show Poser active, no error messages, just nothing.

Probable cause: I used System Restore to pull back an earlier Windows setting because something else got screwed up. The restored state must have been before the P11 install. Regedit shows lots of P11 settings in the registry, so those weren't wiped by the Restore.

Should I try a full reinstall of P11, or is there an easier trick for this situation?

Later: I reverted the System Restore, still no P11. So that wasn't the problem, or else the problem caused by SR remained after the revert.

Later: After full reinstall, still same behavior.

Humm Well I expected the Re-install to work....

Sorry, already tried that. Still the same behavior. 10 seconds of blue circle rotating, then nothing.

I sent a ticket to SM. If they have a useful answer, I'll post it here.

SM came through. They suggested a newer version of the old 'trash preferences' trick.

Delete the folder c:/Program Data/Poser/11 and let Poser rebuild it.

That worked. Poser required me to re-enter the serial number, but at least it's working again.
