Subject: Carrara 9.0 as a plug in for Daz Studio?

Artformz2 ( ) posted Fri, 16 December 2016 at 11:18 AM · edited Sun, 05 January 2025 at 4:57 AM

Wonder if there's any chance Carrara 9.0 might be announced as a plug in for Daz Studio? Tech support told me last summer (very briefly) that they're still working on Carrara, but need to concentrate on Studio. What about another company, like Micro Frontier or Shade picking it up? Also, does Daz really own Blender? Were is this is leading to?

A program that is much more powerful as a plug in for DS ????? :-) My opinion: they should put Carrara into Public Domain...

Daqz does not own Blender. Blender is open source software it can be used with in the Daz pipeline as a Modeler. But Blender is allot more than just modeler it can do texturing UV mapping FX effects and more you can see all the things Blender can do here https://www.blender.org/

Vue is a plugin for C4D. Why not?

Yeah except xStreme is probably one of the most unstable plugins and even bodypaint builds have been known to break it.

Even if it turns-out to be technically feasible, I wouldn't bet my car on this ever happening.

Think of it: Daz Studio (with its clumsy UI) augmented with the features of Carrara, Bryce and Hexagon, as outdated as they may be, could take the industry by storm, especially if it's offered for free.

So why isn't Daz doing it? The short answer is: If the folks at Daz could do it, they would have done it a long time ago already.
