Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 1:34 pm)
Do mirror materials reflect light properly now when given some transparency? Vue could never process light through windows/glass in the past. I still use Modo for such renders. I stopped buying Vue after release 10 because it was always hype that never delivered until 3 versions after a feature was added, and more money you spent for that feature to do as advertised.

I have use it many hours today AND no bugs for now The rendering is faster than all others versions i have used before (since version 2)
I'm glad Vue 2016 is stable for your project, however stability is not a selling feature of the software.. Do you think the upgrade from Vue Infinite 2016 upgrade is a good **value **for the user considering its 1/3 price premium and the 18-24 month?development time?
Seems to me the new features implemented are not complete and add almost no practical value to actual output from the application. I feel like we were shoveled a bunch of LumenRT & TPF / Bentley integration features instead and it was marketed like stuff we could use in Vue - but it doesnt apply (yet). We are paying for this integration in ALL E-ON apps,.... This is R&D Bait and Switch PLUS double dipping!
I think its slipping way behind and at this rate of development and brand erosion, Vue may never again achieve a competitive position.
I've just looked at all the features and I wonder why people would even spent top dollar for this. About 20 really new things and most of them are mere improvements. Disappointing. Good thing is I've got money put aside left for something else now. I held off getting 2015, but 2016 is no buy either. Not even the 2 combined could be worth a new version number..... it really looks like 2016 is really 2014.5. Sorry E-On, if you want me to spent all that kind of money you better start deliver. You became quite 'lazy' as soon as you introduced the maintenance plans. Glad I never fell for those, they only warrant mediocre releases. I'll keep on using my good old Vue 2014 and say goodbye E-On, your new versions add nothing that interests me..... or I would want to pay so much money for.

I looked on my account page and found the windows version of vue 2016 (i'm on mac though) but when I opened the folder I found the mac setup thingy doesn't do anything though.

ok apparently that was the right thing I downloaded. but I had to open the package of the setup for mac file and then run it using one of the internal icons in the package. weird but that is what e-ontold me I needed to do, and it worked, successfully installing vue.

It used to be -.008 for bump adjustment didn't it. By the way I'm getting a reproducible crash of vue if I choose to use the poser textures (with posing turned off) as soon as I say no to the turn them off message. Love esther

Hi everybody. There is a patch out for Vue 2016 Artist line to solve the problem with the Poser import. You can download it from here - then follow the advice in the readme file.

Vue 2016 is out. What really has improved? How do you like that new path tracer render engine? Is it really faster? After this long time, was it worth waiting? Is Vue not disapointing, this time? What do you think?
