Apart from hugely derailing this thread, which I am fault at as much as anyone else and I do apologize for. I think the kinds of criticisms with bullet points and examples is exactly what is needed when people are frustrated or concerned with something. I know it's hard in the heat of the moment but otherwise, it just looks like "hooping and hollerin'". The script and series examples I talked about is more about that I don't mind helping if I can and do like to address concerns if I am able, rather than "look here! I'm so cool. I made stuff". :)

Also it is mistake for moderators to assume that every posts that points out the technical shortcomings of poser is a personal assult on poser users from gloating DAZ studio partisans.

Poser is not a Religion

Their needs to be an emotional disconnect from users and software or we can NEVER have an honest ,adult discussion about objective technical/software feature related reasons why poser is being abandoned en mass by the top class content producers like Stonemason and others.

This community is "dying"because that one common element that made people participate here is perceived to be "Dying"...Poser sorry but this is what is happening.

Ironicly Daz studio users are some of the most harshest critics of DAZ studio particularly now that more merchants are producing content with IRay textures only which requires more powerful graphics hardware to render in a reasonable time.

You might think G3 female is some holy object of worship in the DS community but pop over and see what us animators have to say about her rigging. and remember DAZ studio is FREE.

Poser cost money so poser users ,more than anyone, have the right to Demand better from the seller without being accused of "bashing"

Wolf, you've been around long enough to know what happens in these threads, and unfortunately, you give some people a inch, they go the extra mile and a half. Boni, you realise most of western civilsation is based on a bunch of grumpy old Greek gits sitting around a fire passing wind and arguing. If we don't have these "discussions" how will SM know what to fix ;P

Granted ... these discussions may seem to have a purpose ... AND at first they do ... unfortunately they get out of hand and lose diplomacy and tact quickly because a few posters word use is easily seen as combative rather than constructive.

I used to post on the rdna forums all the time. I took a break from Poser for a few months, when I came back I found out that they were sellouts and said "**** you" and I deleted my bookmarks to their site. I've been to the site once or twice since then, to get some files but I haven't posted or read their forums since the announcement. Screw them.

I posted at RDNA from time to time, and threads like this one going bad make me miss it quite a bit...

Unfortunately not. He want to step back from creation because lack of time and he also could not promise proper support.

Even when RDNA is gone, who say we can not build a new Poser home? The proper Forum already exists.You all just need to post there :)

I have noticed an alarming increase in the number of posters who seem to be out trolling and trying to start a fight. They don't want the mods to tell them what to do. And they insist on being able to break any rule they feel like and hide behind the supposed Freedom of Speech shield.

And then there are the... others. The ones who don't want you to so much as say you don't like the color of the desktop in an app or they call it bashing. The result is we end up with a forum somewhere between the Wild Wild West of overly controlled like Stalag 13.

Then they don't understand the whole Freedom of Speech thing at all. Freedom of Speech only applies when dealing with the government - it does not apply to private entities.

Their forum, their rules. Of course, consistency & common sense would be helpful, but as far as I can tell, that ship sailed a long, long time ago.

I'll go you a step further. People don't seem to remember that the Bill of Rights were an afterthought. They weren't added until 1789 and then weren't ratified until 1791. That's one of the reasons why we've never had a Constitutional Convention. Those same rights can be taken away just like that.

You have a good point Ladonna. Trying to keep the peace and not being overly restrictive is a fine line here. As the thread has calmed down a bit ... I will let it be for now. We try to maintain a positive constructive atmosphere and sometimes fall short. Software criticism, debates and such rarely remain discussions.
