Subject: How do I...???

How do I change the default Poser settings so that when I open Poser it opens with my preferences for window size, tool placement, light set, etc. I know how to change all those things and save as a pz3 but not as the default Poser pz3. Anyone know? Thanks.

Set the document window up the way you want it then open the Edit menu. At the bottom of that menu, select General Preferences. A dialog box will open. Under Document Preference select the "Launch to Preferred State" radio button. Then click the "Set Preferred State" command button. Click OK.

Thanks Jackson. I thought that's how it was done but when I try to save it I get an error message that it can not write to disk. Any idea what that's about?

No, not a clue. But it doesn't sound good. I'd contact CL's tech support on that one.

...at the files in your poser installation folder? Maybe some of them are set to "write protected" (you can look this up in the explorer by right clicking on each file). Just remove the wirting protection, and try again. HTH, Sabine

If your using Window you may want an check and make sure that the file Runtime/prefs/preferredState.pz3 is not read only. Chris Cox
