Hello,

I would like to give you a helping hand but the information you gave is not very clear.

What files? Which product? ...

Please specify your problem a little bit to give us a chance to support you.

The Runtime, Data, and any folders at the same level (e.g.People) from the zip need to be merged with those in the My Daz 3D Library folder, or whatever the content directory used is called. They won't appear in Smart Content, or under Products or Categories in the Content Library, but you should be able to find them in their folders under Daz Studio Fomrats or Poser Formats (as the case may be) in the Content Library pane.

If you mean https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/crux-outfit-for-the-genesis-3-female/118909/ then by the readme the folder structure is a bit muddled, I don't know if the zip is the same - it looks as if it may have a folder named Content in the zip - if so you take the stuff out of the Content folder and merge it into the My Daz 3D library folder. Then in the Content Library pane you go to Daz Studio Formats>My Daz 3D Library>People>Genesis 3 Female>Clothing>Rhiannon>CruX to find the icons for loading the set.

i think, not seeing the 'content' folder in zip file would confuse people who are used to seeing it

I never reply on zip extraction and put each file into it's respective folder. textures to textures, geometries to geometries, etc.

I quit zip extraction way back to poser 4 after files being misplaced. for instance the uninstall files ended up all over. now I do not even allow them to be placed.

I make a temporary runtime folder in Poser and or Daz and force the exe files from daz to install there. then I manually transfer them to their respective folders.

I have no problem now since 99.99 % of daz is studio only. they claimed they do not influence vendors to provide studio only products, but I have my doubts.

Daz don't use exe files anymore and haven't for a long time, and as far as I'm aware Daz don't influence their vendors it's the sales that do that. Whereas rendo apparently are going to start offering a better cut to those vendors that support poser.

DAZ stopped using a "content" subdirectory in version 3 as I recall. The default now is "Mylibrary" if you stick a "content" sub-directory under "Mylibrary" it will cause all sorts of problems. There is also a lot of versatility in creating additional libraries, there is no reason to only stick to one. In fact, there are some good reasons for storing stuff separately you get from here from stuff you download from DAZ in a lot of cases. It also allows you to store content in more than one directory.

My Library is correct. I see the structure when installing products from here that has studio related files included

RHaseltine ( ) posted Wed, 12 April 2017 at 3:57 PM

The name of the folder is not important, as long as both DS and DIM know where to get/put the content. The My Library and My Daz 3D Library folders are simply the current defaults.

I have Daz Content libraries named after what is in them (such as Genesis 1, Genesis 2, Environments, etc) and Daz Studio recognizes them with no problems Just use the Content Directory Manager to add them. And it doesn't matter where the folder is. Mine are in a special folder I created (I don't use the default lovcation where the My Library folder is installed), just navigate the Content Directory Manager to the location.
