Subject: looking for hippie clothes

Does anyone know where I can find love beads, jackets with fringe, braids, low-ride bellbottoms, flowers, and other 60's stuff? Free would be nice. Thanks.

Hah! I was a teenager in the 1960's. I graduated from High School in 1968.. Went straight to college on scholarships, and flunked out. Then it was off to a misadventure in the Army... But I digress. I can tell you I wore a hodge podge of clothing styles from nehru jackets (courduroy ..spelling?), to madras materials, surfing shirts.... And I had flare pants.... I used to wear the wildest looking outfits I could find... People used to honk their horns at me. Funny thing. My hair is longer now that I am 52, than it was when I was a "young hippie!"

I also graduated in '68. Turn 51 this Thursday. I wore Nehru shirts (there is still one in the back of my closet), sashes (I have the purple and green one, and the brown paisley one) mostly around the head or waist, and bellbottoms. However, being an artist, I usually looked put together, and not too wild. Other clothing of the time included daishikis and little white British boots. I made daisychain love beads, but they are long gone, and I have forgotten the method. :( Check at 3dcommune for a headsash (it is in free stuff, and I think Maclean made it? called "hippie headband"?). Somebody did a bellbottom morph for the P4 fem jeans, IIRC. You could probably make a Nehru jacket from one of the cheongsum dresses. Fringed jacket or purse would be trickier. Perhaps a site which has western gear (Greylight comes to mind) has such a jacket. Are you going to do a tie-dyed texture map? (Take UVMapper and twist it into a knot... just kidding!) Carolly

Do you need to be a member of 3dcommune to use the free stuff section? And do you have URL's for the other stuff you mentioned?
