Virtual World Dynamics F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 05 5:09 pm)
Hello wendyvainity,
Yes, you are right, there is no way to export a dynamic animation before it is finished. I think to this and I give you quickly a solution.
Nevertheless, you are scaring me, 14 hours : it is the length of time for your simulation? If it is the case, could you give me the name of the dynamic actor and your parameters for this simulation.
I come back to you quickly.
Gérald

its the length of the sim and high values at fault 741 frames
yes have 8 samples and 6 iterations
self collision was close cannot look and inflate of 10
Artemis dress on genesis 3 female and I had most the other items from the outfit as collision
it's on frame 722 now so finished in an hour or so (been about18 hours)
it looks good, hope can save to show!!
as you may of gathered I want to finish this one as it does look good.
often though after seeing an item has slipped off after a rather good intitial performance one just does not want to let it continue knowing it will be unuseable from that point.
Tell me if you want to stop it or if you prefer to terminate it. There is a solution, but my goal was to show it in a tutorial associated to another function.

is ok for this one but do want to know for future sims TY
Waouh ! Impressive ! Wendy.
I didn't think such a simulation was doable. Thank you for that. I only saw some issues on the armpits. This is a problem linked to the program and, currently, I work on it.
I suppose you will be happy when the program will work on GPU.
To reply to your previous question, the a solution exists and it is currently a hidden part of VWD. It is in the version you have but it will be useful later associated with the correction of the character animation.
You can press the "#" character when you are in the scene viewer. This will change the "Start Dynamic simulation" to "Send animation to host", a bit as if the simulation was finished. When you press on this modified button, the program closes and the "partial" animation is sent to the host.
I cannot test this using a "Qwerty" keyboard, but I suppose it should work. Please, make a test on a very simple simulation for the first time.
Have a great day.
Gérald

thanks for that information, I shall try it.
The cloth simulation was better than the figure animation which ended up defying gravity!
Genesis 3 animation conversions are iffy at best.
is one reason I usually use Genesis and genesis 2 if not V4 etc.
I suppose I could just render angels!
@wendyvainity : In fact, I am really impressed by all the cloth movements at the same time. I didn't speak on the animation which, you are right, defies the gravity constraint.

I have found no way to stop and export a dynamic animation before it is finished.
After 14 hours I sometimes just want to end it and use what I have but cannot, it can only be stopped and continued not exported.
One can do static drapes but not an animation before completion.
Am I missing something? Is there a way around this?
