I have found that with P4 Male, the temple indentations make KISS make smear terribly. So I turned to P4 Fem. I had already created a female version of Starchild/Paul Stanley. Now I've created the Female Demon/Gene Simmons to get my mind off my current family situation....I hope you find her interesting. Liz Pope Dreamspinner Inc.

*smile* I discovered that I need only draw only one side of the KISS make up and then duplicate that layer, mirror it, then reposition it...ah saved so much time! It's not incredibly accurate, though Gene did change the size and shape of his facial batwings over the years. At one point, I was so versed, I could judge the year of a photo of KISS by just Gene's facial make up. Let me bring up my Fem Starchild for you to see too. Liz

These are really cool, Liz! Must be something in the air, Cartoon Network had a 'Josie and the Pussycats' short where at one stage they were a Kiss style Heavy metal band, with makeup and tongue and all. Regards Lemurtek

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Sun, 14 October 2001 at 3:59 AM

Wizzard...are you trying to date yourself? Actually, way back at the beginning in 1973, they opened for Savoy Brown and Blue Oyster Cult. grin Did yah sleep through the 70's and miss'em? Liz

heh heh heh.. just about Liz 8 ) I think the only time I saw them was when Sabbath hit Providence RI.. back around 74 or so... shrug dating myself? did I tell you about the violinist that muffed the Concerto and the way Wolfgang flew into a rage during a rehearsal? 8 )

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Sun, 14 October 2001 at 6:07 AM

Wizzard, be ye a vampire? Liz

Wizzard ( ) posted Sun, 14 October 2001 at 6:14 AM

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Sun, 14 October 2001 at 6:22 AM

Ah, ha! Vamp maybe, Elven maybe....Vulcan maybe...you continue to tantalize with the mysterious. But then wizards are like that. Learned from the best (Merlin) right? Liz

heyas; cool. bummer about the male makeup smearing, though. so.... if paul stanley's name is 'star child,' then all these years, gene simmons' name was 'female demon'??? ::scratching head at that one::

MaterialForge ( ) posted Sun, 14 October 2001 at 7:57 PM

Oh, this rocks! How about some of those outfits on the Love Gun album cover? ;)

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Sun, 14 October 2001 at 9:39 PM

Bloodsong, there was a mythos built up around the band, furthered in two Marvel comics and one movie. They had super hero powers imparted to them by talismans given to them my a mysterious mage. Each one had a name of power. Paul Stanley was Starchild. Gene Simmons, was Demon. Ace Frehley was the Space Ace. Peter Criss was the Catman. Eric Carr was the Fox. And Vinnie Vincent called himself the Egyptian, but I renamed him to Lifesong. Bruce Kulic who was in the band last but did not get to wear makeup, had expressed in articles what his makeup would be and so I gave him the name Shockwave. I tried with Amorphium to pull up and smooth out the deep temple indentations on P4 Male to hopefully keep the makeup from sliding and smearing but without success. If someone can manage to fix that then the makeup I've made can easily be transfered. Until then, there will be a female line up. Of all the costumes that KISS had over the years, there is only one peice that I would truly like to see modeled in 3D. Gene's Dragon boots. Those would be so awesome! Liz Pope

Rexxilla did up the whole Kiss set inclusing Gene's cossie and boots etc... ye might get in touch with Rexx 8 ) as a side note. teh demon boots Rexx did are really nifty 8 ) Cheers

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Sun, 14 October 2001 at 10:25 PM

I have those zips, Wizzard, that when I discovered the sliding/smudging problem on the P4Male. I didn't look to closely at the props and what not included with the figures. If I can solve the problem with the make up which is essential to the KISS figures and their mystic, then Rexx's figures will be far more useful and fun! I have the feeling though that in order to achieve this, someone's got to make a new head for P4Male which doesn't have the various faults that we all know Dork has. Liz

hauksdottir ( ) posted Mon, 15 October 2001 at 8:36 AM

Gee, whillikers! I must be older than Wizzard, because I remember Ed Sullivan introducing some boys from England calling themselves The Beatles. My parents and so many others were offended, but they were clean-scrubbed and neatly dressed... and they could write some pretty music. Carolly

bloodsong ( ) posted Mon, 15 October 2001 at 1:29 PM

heyas; i dont think a morph will fix that, it sounds as if you'd need to remap the face to get that particular part un-squished :/

Wizzard ( ) posted Tue, 16 October 2001 at 12:41 AM

nay carolly... I saw that show live as well 8 ) then again I also remember when ye had to go down the street to watch the new fangled radio-movie box 8 )

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Tue, 16 October 2001 at 2:37 AM
