Subject: Lecture au-dela' de la fin de fichier error

primeuser ( ) posted Fri, 04 August 2017 at 10:24 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 4:31 PM

I have been trying to use VWD in poser animations for a long time now and I am continuously getting this error in french: Lecture au-dela' de la fin de fichier...if I wrote that down correctly. I get this error only in poser. I also have the front ends for DAZ and Carrara and I never get this error using them with VWD. I can also run a static sim in poser and not get this error. But 8-9 times out of 10 I get this error each time I try and run a sim in poser.

Any help would be appreciated as I don't speak french and I don't even know what that error means.

TY

Hello primeuser,

I confess I didn't do simulations on Poser from a long time. I will make some tests quickly and I will give you a reply.

Have you this issue when you simulate very long animation?

Have a great day.

 Gérald

The error comes up almost immediately after I start the dynamic sim. I have probably set something up incorrectly because it has done the same thing with poser for the last versions of the plugin also. I just don't know why it works with Carrara and DAZ but not poser. And again, a static sim works fine, it is just the dynamic ones and I don't know what that error means.

Thanks for the speedy reply :)

From what I know of VWD interface, it could happen during the transfer of animation data (that would explain why it works in static sim and not dynamic one). Could you press the "record animation" button when importing the collision object and see what happens?

@primeuser: Excuse me I didn't have many time to make these tests. I promise to give you a reply tomorrow. The suggestion made by Philippe is very good. It would be very interesting to have the result of this test.

I tried hitting the record animation button and I immediately received that same french error. I hit the OK button acknowledging the error, but VWD is still running in the background. I can press the stop simulation button and it stops. But if I then again press the start dynamic simulation button I immediately get the same error. And if I just let the simulation continue it goes on and on and produces no visible results.

I have my VWD files set up as C:/VWD if that makes any difference. They are not in my actual poser directory substructure.

As far as I can tell from your description, the script fails during the extraction of the collision vectors positions in the following frames of the animation and VWD crashes because the file containing those positions is either empty or truncated.

Does it happen with a particular scene or all scenes in Poser?

primeuser ( ) posted Fri, 11 August 2017 at 10:45 AM

Thanks again for taking the time to help. It happens in all scenes in Poser, but only in Poser not DAZ or Carrara. What does the error windows translate to in english?

philemot ( ) posted Fri, 11 August 2017 at 12:52 PM

It translates as " reading beyond the end of file"

Hello primeuser,

I made some tests and I don't have this issue. Philippe said you the meaning of this error. The program cannot read some informations needed for the simulation. As if the end of the file was reached.

Perhaps, the folder where are placed the VWD files is protected. I will ask to some Poser's users if they have this issue.

You have this issue with the latest version or it has appeared for a long time?

I continue to make tests to try to understand the problem.

Gérald

Thank you for the help and the translation. I currently have the VWD files in my main c:/ drive as c:/VWD. I also tried them in the poser directory but remembered reading that if I was having problems try and relocate them to the main directory. Maybe the admin rights is causing problems on the C;/ drive but I don't know why it would have problems using poser and not the other programs. But I will try moving the VWD files to my data drive and see if that changes anything.
