who carrara artists come here but not the 'other' forum?

wondering how far the information sharing goes

I come to both. I don't post much here because I can never remember my password- so a simple post takes ten minutes before I am even logged in!

Not really sure exactly what you mean.

I use Poser and Carrara, and I'm in both forums. I used to got to RuntimeDNA's forums too -- but no longer.

I like Hexagon and Blacksmith.

FWIW, I don't use DAZ Studio.

Just my opinion, I like DAZ' models but I am not happy with them as a company -- and I have paid for the right to say that.

Like Headwax, I also come to both (meaning DAZ & Renderosity Carrara discussions, which I think you mean). Unlike Headwax, Renderosity knows my password, so I just hit "Sign In" and I'm in. The DAZ discussion is more active, but Renderosity has better contests ... with real prizes! I have a big Wacom Intuos Pro tablet still in a box that I won in some past contest, plus a lot of Smith Micro software that I have yet to install. I do appreciate the prizes, but I'm always working on that next Carrara animation, and those products don't help. If you can't do it in Carrara, you can't do it. Except you might need Particle Illusion. And maybe Photoshop, and the cool features of Magix Movie Edit Pro, and ...

There's an app for that! Look for one that's encrypted as well as password protected and works on your phone AND computer. Or, you can use use a text file (ie.notepad) or spreadsheet and use .ZIP with encryption.

Just wanted to add that password managers that run on a phone and store the info online can be less secure.

I don't have an option :D

Depends on the info. Some forums are overly cleansed for your protection. lol Wont hurt to put it in both.

I go to most Carrara forums that see traffic.

In addition to promoting their own products, it seems they are promoting ignorance as well.

It seems like a person doesn't have to sing the companies praises and can have a dissenting opinion from time to time without getting posts deleted or being shouted down.

and it may be the only site that Carrara specific content will continued to be sold from what I have observed.

or it may be their sneaky way to push us former poser users back to poser?

You know, we just went thru a lot for better prizes at daz... but in all fairness, it's a lot harder to get carrara products in there, and for here file size is very restricting, so between those two points alone carrara stuff is slim...

Also, Daz is where carrara is sold, common sense more would use the forums there...

I usually don't post at Daz. Let's keep this forum and Carrara going. I still have hope that eventually there may be a Carrara 9.

Didn't you know Carrara 9 IS already released? There are actually 4 versions of it, depending on your budget and your artistic aspirations. These 4 versions are, in no particular order: iClone7 (Windows only), Cheetah3D (Mac only), Lightwave 2015.3 (PC+Mac), and Shade3D (PC+Mac). Take your pick.

I use Hexagon, which is dead on this site. So I go to the other site mostly, where forums are alive and kicking still.

It will be a while before a newer version, Daz has even cut back on products for it...

Actually, being active here is like using your vote on an independent, weakens the strength of candidate who actually has a chance at winning...

Don't get me wrong, I love rr, for 20 plus years and going strong...
