Subject: Poser Queue manager 11 serial number the same as Poser serial Number?

KyReb ( ) posted Tue, 08 March 2016 at 3:13 PM · edited Thu, 30 January 2025 at 1:24 PM

If not, why when I purchased Poser 11 through Renderosity I was only given one serial number?

  1. No, there is a different serial number for Queue Manager.
  2. You said you bought Poser 11. Network Render Queue (using Queue Manager) is a Poser Pro 11 feature.

Poser Pro Feature?

Odd then that it installed on my machine when I purchased Poser 11

Software packages often include code for a feature that is not licensed to be used in the version purchased.

Applying the appropriate licence key just enables the feature.

This appears to be similar. Installed it may be, but can you use it?

They're still doing this, enabling the Queue Manager install by default. For newbs to this newer version of Poser (I've been using a 20 year old version) it can be confusing.

@KyReb : I would not expect Queue to be functional, with a P11 license; only P11Pro enables Queue.

Queue has its own serial number. The intent is that you would install Poser Pro on your workstation (using the Poser Pro serial). You can then install Queue Manager (using the Queue serial) on as many other computers (networked in with your workstation) as you wish. Your workstation can use the other computers to help work through animation frames or batch lists of still renders.

You cannot currently use Queue to spread a single big wallpaper render across a home network. I'd like to see that single-render network ability added in the next Poser Pro.

Poser 12, in feet.

The reason for the why you got the Queue Manager is that Poser comes as a single install. All the parts of Poser are in the install and the serial number determines what features you have access to. This saves from having two different packages which could get out of sync and creating a lot of helpdesk complaints.

Hi. You seem familiar with serial number issues. I just bought the Poser 11 upgrade (from Poser 9) for $99.00, with the plan to upgrade to Poser 11.3. I am at the "Product Registration" screen and it is prompting me to enter my serial number for Poser 11 (not the Poser 9 serial number, which is on a separate, lower line and marked "Not required." I have no idea how to find that. Where do I find the serial number for the product that I just bought and downloaded, Poser 11.0?

Thanks

Oops - Poser Pro 11.0, not Poser, if that matters.

You should have got an email with the number in there. Or if you look at your account you should be able to find it there. I nothing else file a support ticket at posersoftware.com
