Been working with Poser 11. More of an on again/off again effort to animate with program. Have looked over a few tutorials for audio/lip sync but can't seem to find the input file/files for the basic characters when using the talk designer…………. Is an additional program required?

What "basic character" are you looking for? Phonemes for all the included Poser characters are in the Talk Designer dropdown. If you are looking for sound files then you have to record them yourself. If you are looking for visemes for Dawn, V4, M4, and numerous others or how to actually use the Talk Designer or write viseme files yourself I have posted all of this before here, RDNA, and a few other sites. If you could further refine the question I can help more.
