I was thinking a setting of being able to "hide" someone would be useful - the way they hide violence and nudity if you choose those options. (Just as long as we can do so discretely... because I don't want someone to feel that their art is diminished by someone wanting to hide it, it's just that we have different criteria or tastes.)

I've been thinking of not uploading my art here anymore. No one here sees it anyway in the mass flood of prime members and freeloaders trying to get points ;). Plus there's always Daz, Hivewire, DeviantArt, etc. FWIW, it kinda happens in the freestuff section too...ppl uploading one pose at a time, etc. I'm not sure it's worth it.

I am with you LaurieA, I find it unbelievable that Renderosity does not put a stop to it. I agree with the free stuff section, ONE pose at a time.. crazy

I only wish I could hide the images of those who post one and the same image over and over again just with different pose or eye colour or eyes looking up and next image eyes looking to the side... those I want to hid because they are made quick as you can see by there quality for points , not for art.

I guess it's different if you're uploading things for the points. I never do tho. I don't give a rat's behind about the points ;).

Same here, only last week I found out about points for uploads. Not a good system in my humble opinion, it seems a desperate measure to keep customers :(
If uploads are limited to, say, three per day in all galleries except the prime members gallery - and let them upload as many as they like there, then the general galeries would not get so cluttered and the points-hunters could get all the points they want without annoying the rest of the members here.
In the past you had to spend a certain amount of money in a month you get rewarded with a certain % of what you had spend * forgot how much * so, the more you spend the more you got in % and could use when buying something the next time. Now you get this in form of points for uploading images or purchasing products and maybe also for uploading stuff to the freebie section * but I am not sure about that. So, some of us noticed that some people make one picture and load that same picture up over and over again, just change eye colour or cloth colour, or camera angle, basically loading up 20 of the same for getting those points. We, the artist who are in it for the art and not the points * so it is nice to get some * have to go through pages of those images when we browse the Gallerie. If you are a Prime Member you can upload as many images as you like and if you are not a Prime Member you can upload 5 images. I have seen about 20 images by one user as in one image slightly changed .. just for the points. I think Renderosity has not thought that through properly as people abusing this new point system BIG TIME.
auh, got it.
they must've put a little thought in it though because i see there are no points issued for forum postings [snort]
and frankly, there's always been those seeking ways of manipulating their "popularity" here, and prolly the same elsewhere... just seems to me that all ranking and stat keeping and the like should go by the wayside and it really should be about the art, as you said, but in these days of facebook and hashtagging BS and all the pointless self-centered mindset[s] of the general masses, it seems sadly unlikely. stat keeping does nothing except stroke insecure egos and aids in the errosion & fracturing of the idea, the heart and soul so to speak, of community -- but that's just me [shrug]

That would just move the problem to the Prime galleries. A general limit at 3 and maybe 5 for Prime members per day would be reasonable IMO.

Soon as you introduce a "points" system, someone will abuse it. Human nature.
Even if the points are worthless, they gotta have them, and more the better..
I just do not like people who abuse those things. Like in the freebie section, One pose at a time... Those poses could be the best poses in the world and I would not download them because they are posted one at a time for the reason to grab points. I rather have no points than this way.

Plus there's always Daz,
Daz isn't free from upload spam. Some members often do massive dumps on there which can be quite annoying. More than three at a time is excessive IMO. Not sure why Renderosity or Daz haven't implemented a daily upload limit. This is basic stuff that would vastly improve the experience for most users.
I recall back when I joined it was one per day for non-prime. That was very annoying. You'd post at 8 p.m., so you'd then have to wait until 8 p.m. the next night, but of course you could never post exactly at the same time, so your time kept creeping upward until it was midnight. Then you'd have to skip a day so your time was back earlier in the evening. Then after I bought prime it was ten per day, but really, ten was over-kill. I think two per day, non-prime, is enough, and maybe five per day for prime would be sufficient. And points? lol. Been on Rendo for years and never knew there was points until I saw this thread. I went looking for the points and I found 981 points. I pushed the spend here button and it says 1000 points is $10. So.... seriously? Just thinking about how many uploads you'd have to make just to get $10 bucks, wow, not a very efficient use of your time.
Anyway, I think there's a skype staff meeting coming up soon. I have a list of things for the writers I was going to mention, I'll make sure I also mention that spammed uploads have been a problem and pass on your suggestions.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to give you an update. We had the staff meeting and I did mention this issue as I promised. There was a long discussion about it and all the Mods/Coords agreed that spammed uploads are a problem. The issue is now on the table with Admin and will be looked at. Of course I can't give you any promises what will happen, but your concerns, and suggestions for fixes have been heard and are being taken seriously. We had an even longer discussion about better Mod/Coord coverage of the forums so your questions are answered, or at least acknowledged more quickly. Thank you to everyone for bringing this to our attention.

I just was in the gallery and a non-prime member (who should be limited in the number of uploads) had uploaded 57 images so far today.
I have a number of things on my wishlist. I've been posting stories in the writer's gallery. Maybe my next story, I should post a paragraph at a time using the same image and upload the whole book at the same time. I could get enough rewards points to clear out my wishlist and then some. I won't, of course. I have more respect for my work and the people here to do that. (it would be nearly 7000 uploads. That's bad.) But it is tempting since no one on the level that can do anything about it seems to care.

Even more when I checked just now! However good the images are (and some are very good) posting so many in one day is just grabbing points - you'd have to be a really devoted fan to comment on sixty posts! Please, admins, sort this out now!

I've posted in another thread about this issue. I stopped counting posts last night from one person after about 60 or so.... Funny thing is, this person does NOT appear to be a Prime member.
Doesn't appear anyone in a position to address the problem is even listening.

Sixty? On checking the culprit's gallery it's more like 120 today. Now that is really taking the p**s!
I stopped counting after I got to around 60. This really is pathetic. I've been on Rendo since 2009, and have never seen such nonsense. Makes me wonder if it's worth renewing my Prime membership. I do well to upload 1 or 2 a week...
I do hope what Wolf said is right, and someone is actually taking this seriously.

I'm about to retire, so time wouldn't be an issue.... But I'm an old Military brat, and I don't think they'd like my style!

Where does it leave us who really want to show what they work on so hard? There is ONE user that I come across in the Daz Gallery, with the same image just different expression, and we have to wade through them to see images that have art in it. As much as I like the new point rewards, there HAS to be an upload limit in place for us. 3 Images a day would be PLENTY. I rather only load up 1 Image a day than having to view those * point hunting * images.
I do hope there will be changes made because how can we take the Galleries serious with point hunting images * crops of the same image OVER AND OVER AGAIN, only colour changed or expression. You can tell they are in for the points and taking advantage, that has nothing to do with Art and it saddens and angers me.
I love showing my work here, I made wonderful friends over the years, but this is just too much.
Give Prime member their own gallery where they can post 24/7 and let us have just 3 uploads. Kind regards Petra
