**once again the written rules of the contest and what actually are the rules on what can be uploaded in size and video format do not match. giving upload errors
I say this because I tried to upload a animation for the contest today. in 1080 HD MPEG at 90,.4 mb and couldn't so on checking again the requirements I'm a bit confused in the entry rules and what type & size video formats can be up to 1.5 gigs**
<-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
.. It appears the actual download file allowed in the contest rules of 1.5gigs do not match the actually file sized allowed of 50 mb max... Ha !
<------------------------------------------------------------->.
The renderosity site does not also allow for mpeg HD video to be uploaded stating in the entry rules . when I tried. I get the "you are not allowed to upload this file type" error. I can change the file type to mp4 .. But i can not change the file size.. can someone please fix the upload file size. and I reduce the file from 1080HD mpeg to 720HD mp4
Hi Ivy! I'm sorry for replying back to you so late, I just noticed you had replied to this thread. I'm frustrated about this too, let me see what's going on with the file type and file size thing, I'll be back with a solution to your problem soon.

Please check your internet. & use this one out of Nashville, TN. http://speedtest.xfinity.com/ My speed test show I have 12.8 gigs upload speed. 820 mb download. I pay for 14 gigs so I'm pretty close. The errors I keep getting do not say My ISP timed out ,The screen shot I took clearly said renderosity server fail to respond 504. and timeout My upload error did not say my ISP does not allow for mpeg video to be uploaded . The screen captured I took clearly states That renderosity did not allow for mpeg upload. upload. I just uploaded 4 videos in 2 days to 2 different sites & not one of them timed me out on upload., I also edited 2 animation videos on YouTube this weekend with no timeout issues either
ME think its you that needs to check your interent speed. my ends is fine.
I apologize for the frustrations we are working to make sure we can allow the animators a reasonable file size to upload. It has been increased to 1500MB. The developers are working to work out any bugs in the system now. Hopefully it will be worked out by the end of this day.
Thank you for your patience.
Sincerely,

Well not to complain..lol I tried 2 more times tonight to upload something. First I tried to upload a 1080HD - 320 MB, Mpeg animation and it got to 97% uploaded and renderosity stopped taking my upload giving me a 504 error.. See screen capture.. so I went to google chrome.this time instead of firefox. and tried one more time to upload this animation. this time I tried to upload a 720HD 92MB MP4 fil;m . and it did the same thing got to about 92% uploaded and gave me this same 504 server not responding errors. message. . tested my internet speed. it checked out tonight at 12.9mbs Down & 4.7mbs -Upload and that was with hubby watching a movie on amazon prime on TV.

It's that time of year again, time to get your ghosts and goblins together to create one spooky creation for Renderosity's annual Halloween contest. This year we want to see what generation of horror beckons you, are you more of a 1930's horror person in which "King Kong" and the giant monster horror genre were all the rage or are you more of an early 1980's horror person in which "Poltergeist" and the ghosts and spirits genre were making the hairs on people's skin rise up. Whatever generation of horror you feel one with, we want to see it in action. If you don't really know what generation of horror you like, then here's a link to a chart originally created by Horror on Screen and updated by Simple Film Reviews and is now posted on The A.V. Club's website, it shows all the horror genres and sub-genres and movies from those genres that may help you decide what creepy direction you want to go in: http://i.imgur.com/RbTL7Mj.png. At the link below, you will find the Halloween contests for the photography, animation, 3D, writing, and 2D categories. Ghoul luck and we can't wait to get spooked by your creations!
