now my Poser 8 is pretty much working now....1 thing ive noticed is alot of new things are either just for Daz.....which i dont use(prefer my poser)....and also heaps just for Genisis.......which i dont use or want.....Im old fashioned plus way too much extra have to buy......ive bought enough....and if it is for Poser....its the newer versions........So my question i guess now is ppl who use to make things for early versions of Poser..........but seem to only make for daz and or genesis ............means some of us miss out on so much good content..........kinda sux...............Thanks if you read this........hugssss

I'm not prolific but as yet I only make for Poser. Not at all proficient in DS, so for now I'll stay with what I know. No intention of making clothes and "soft" stuff, either; my stuff is all hard surface models and should work in any version of Poser from 6 up. They will work in earlier versions but would look bad, because I use a lot of crease angle stuff which doesn't work in earlier versions.

Have a few ongoing health problems which have seriously affected my ability to do much for Poser, free or paid, but with luck things will improve by next year. In the meantime, feel free to grab the freebies I have here, and/or take a look at my one and only MP item to see if it floats yer boat.

Yes, there is more content being made for Daz these days, but there's still plenty being made for Poser, and plenty of it is for earlier versions of Poser. If you go to Market place home here, then click on market place at the top, then select "new poser" from the drop down, you will see the latest releases (and re-releases!) for Poser. Most of these will work in Poser 8.

Of course some figures have been designed to use features only available in later versions of Poser. So Hivewire products are designed for Poser 9 and later for example, and anything for the Pauline figure needs Poser 11. Some items have got textures for the Poser 11 render engine (Superfly) but most also have textures for the older Firefly render engine used in Poser 8

And remember, as long as you have your valid serial number for Poser 8 you could buy Poser 11 at the upgrade price, and watch out for sales of Poser.

I just picked up several items here for poser that were new. Flinks new spider web is on my shopping list for this or next week. There is a lot of the new D/S items, If the items were native (and not Dson) also to Poser, I'd buy them in a heartbeat. Sadly if I see anything I want that's D/S, it's up to me to try to convert it myself to use specifically in Poser (very limited success) for personal use. I would buy a program that would do an easy conversion of D/S items to Poser along with converting the item for older models. That said I am aware of some ways to do this myself with a lot of editing. *waves money at vendors to interest them in saving me tons of time :) *waves money at artists teaching me to make stuff better in general :D *looks for general "Make Art" button for life.

Poser 8 will still work with a lot of new content. You don't want anything that uses Superfly exclusively and some items probably have materials that may not work. There are some python script tools that won't work with Poser 8, so watch out there. A lot of stuff still works with Poser 8. The new Dawn figure should work fine though I have to admit I haven't tried it in Poser 8. Several of the new Poser original figures sold here should work (though V4 and M4 items have the best chance of working). You'll need to check the readme files which are free to check :) Even at Daz you can still find some older items that work that go back to probably Poser 5 or 6 (though you'll really have to search) for Victoria 3, Aiko 3, Michael 3, Hiro 3, and David 3 and Stephanie 3.

I too am a primary Poser user and Ambassador for Poser. Now, admittedly I do a lot of stuff for P11/PP11 because I love Superfly, but I fully support using all versions of Poser. (Not to mention non of my stuff is in the Marketplace yet, LOL). We are here. We have a Poser category in the MP drop down list. The community wants this. Don't despair trends don't mean we aren't here and thriving in our own way.

I'm always adding to it or deleting sites from it to try and keep it up to date, but yeah it is a finished product and does not cost anything to use. You don't even need to sign up to use it.
