Treemaker; what is it about, I cannot seem to make anything even close to trees with it... ;) It's the strangest thing I have seen in a while. Anyone have any explanation on why it is there (for a laugh? ;) etc. and why it doesn't make anything that can really be rendered? And those of you wondering what I am talking about, open Poser and type the word HAIR (lowercase letters). That should open a weird little thing called Treemaker. More on the subject here -- > http://www.eurus.dti.ne.jp/~masasi/PROGRAM/hairtuto.html

Yeah...Poser 4's dirty little secret.... You can export that stuff, BTW, but only in .3DS format, and then re-import it and use it as a prop, or wahtever, and it will render. For that matter, I suppose you could even UV map it, after converting it to .obj, but the amount of polygons this stuff creates can be outrageous.

holy sh*t. you're right! Maybe they put it in there to allow you to add hair to your models... Here goes an odd little feature to work with now. Who knows, this may become the "Hair Lab" someday, something to add to the Poser 5 wish list...

Cheryle ( ) posted Mon, 15 October 2001 at 3:46 AM

made it by rendering the hair. exporting it as obj, running it thru masa's nifty little hair maker utility. brought it back in and that's it .. it's actually a lot of fun

Cheryle, I love it! Laughing-out-loud is a good way to start a Monday morning.

MikeJ ( ) posted Mon, 15 October 2001 at 5:53 AM

About a year ago someone said it wouldn't render and it had to be exported as .3ds. I never tried to do anything else with it....just believed... shrug Hilarious, Cheryle!

Ladysilvermage: go to Masa's site and download the furfur utility. Then in poser,Click on the part you want to grow hair on and type hair.Do NOT render your image- this has to be done in an undrendered image to work. once you have the hair - choose it and export it as an obj. Take it into Masa's furfur utility and convert it. You can't for example click the arms legs and chest and grow hair and export it as an obj. you have to export each one individually, and bring it into furfur individually,.. then re import it back into your image as a prop. hope this helps
